Dining Plan question with kids?

If we do the DDP, is it possible for my two kids to share 1 meal and only use 1 credit? They will be 6 and 4 and are small eaters. I know I have to purchase the plan for both of them but we will have more table service meals than actual credits. We would pay OOP for the extra adult meals but it seems a waste to use 2 credits when I know the kids will each only eat less than half of a meal. That way we can save the extra credit for them to share on another night when we are paying OOP. Thanks in advance for any/all advice and suggestions.

Not at buffets, AYCE family style restaurants, dinner shows, fixed price restaurants (CRT or Akershus), meal packages (Fantasmic or Candlelight Processional) or Via Napoli. Anyplace else, most likely.

Kids meals are really small. They are appropriately sized for children ages 3 to 9.

Thanks for the reply. We know we have to use a credit for everyone in our party for any restaurant that has a fixed price per person. Was just wondering about some of the others (Mama Melrose, Be our Guest, etc) Sounds like it might be a possibility :daisy:

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of how small the portions are but since my kids will be barely 4 and 6, they are small eaters by nature AND they also get an afternoon snack, I highly doubt they will be eating anything by the time dinner rolls around lol :flower1:

You may want to consider paying oop instead of the dining plan. My kids are 3 and 5 and the kids meals are more than enough for them to share on most days- entree, sides, and dessert- small kids don't eat THAT much. After picking the places we wanted to eat and actually doing the math- we figured out we'd save money by not using the dining plan. Not to mention- you still have to pay tips oop. When we had the dining plan in March we left 16 QS meals when we checked out and my kids don't drink soda so they never used the refillable mugs... we've started buying giftcards to pay for our meals next year.

I would normally agree with you but since we are doing mostly buffet/character meals it actually makes sense for us to do the dining plan this time. The kids will probably split a quick service lunch everyday and my husband will use the extra QS credit to get breakfast. The kids and I are cereal/granola bar breakfast eaters but the hubby likes a "big breakfast" when we are on vaca so he'll grab some quick service at the resort while I get the kids ready for the day (It's actually win/win since it gets him out of my way while I'm getting us together :mickeybar) We have two TS meals that aren't buffett/character/pre-fix so I would probably ask about them splitting something. If it doesn't work out that way, no big deal...an extra $20 will certainly make no difference in my WDW vaca budget...:rotfl2:
