Dining Plan Question: Use table service at the counter?

I checked the FAQs and some other threads, but didn't see this question:

If I have used all my counter service meal credits, will my table service credits be accepted at a counter service restaurant?

I KNOW this is unwise. I'm just asking if it is possible.

I have heard of it being done, but you have to get a manager involved and it still might not happen.

We just returned from the FQPO. We had 3 table service left at the end of our trip, (my husband did not check the receipt at Ohanas and they charged it on our credit not as DP, even though I told her we were on the DP, I did not know it until I checked our charges the night before we checked out. Anyway...) The food court at FQ let me use my TS there and I got so much food to take home. Appetizier, entree and dessert and drinks. It might be the person checking you out but I had no problem and she was very helpful. I got chips as an appetizer, fruit/cheese platter as an entree, rice crispe treats as dessert and bottled juice and choc. milk for drinks.
