We're travelling in August, there will be 7 of us--MIL, DH and myself, DD11, DS9, DD3, and soon to arrive DS6 months. Due to the reservation system, we're doing our meal planning now. So, here's the question: is there another meal plan ASIDE FROM the Magic Your Way package? While MYW sounds pretty good, MIL (who's treating the whole gang, bless her!) would prefer a 3 meals a day package. I tend to agree, given the ages/appetites of my kids, plus I plan to be nursing, so I would need three meals a day. Money is no object with her. Also, our current plan includes Coral Reef for lunch--last I heard it was a signature restaurant, requiring 2 MYW meals--hardly worth it to get my 3yo mac and cheese! Of course, we could pay for the extra meals out of pocket, and may do that if no other plan is available. I had planned a number of sit down meals (the whole nursing thing), and would scale those back.

Thoughts? Ideas? I appreciate any input! Thanks

I believe there is something called the platinum package, which includes staying at a deluxe resort and 3 sit down meals per day, plus a load of other extras included. Not sure of any more details though as it isn't something we could ever afford

Well, Deb Wills' site had the Premium (which has three meals a day) and then the Platinum (which included spa treatments, Vic and Al's, etc.). But when MIL talked to AAA, they only had the one "Magic Your Way" package. So I dont' know if Deb's site just doesn't have the latest info. And believe me, if this weren't MIL's treat, we would be on the "jar of peanut butter in the room" meal plan!

Those packages may not be available through AAA. She may need to book directly through disney- or another travel agency. AAA sells only AAA packages

Yes they have a Premium package with 3 meals a day, when booking my trip it was an option on the Disney web site. Also as of 2006 Coral Reef is not a signiture resturant, it only requires one credit.

Unless your group wants to do 3 TS meals a day, or have everything prepaid, it would probably make more sense to get the MYW dining Plan, and just pay OOP for any extra meals you want. It would surely be less expensive than the Premium or Platinum packages, anyway.

Also, there is a lot of food on the regular Dining plan- you might be surprised to find that you don't need extra meals. The 3 of us (me, DH, and DD) had the MYW Dining last fall, and we were never hungry for the entire week- we left 5 CS meals unused, and almost all of our snack credits, Since the portions were so large, we shared on more than a few occasions.

Just my .02- you might really need more food than we did.

I agree with the other posters... Go with the MYW plus dining and pay for the extra meals... with pooled credits you can pay for the kids Mac and cheese and use the extra credits for your meals. Also remmebr eating at some of these places takes alot of time.. If you have 3 sit down meals you are looking at at least 5 hours of you day gone... Don't think the counter service is just burgers and fries.. there are some good unique offerings there as well!! Either way you will enjoy your trip!!!
