do you have to let the resteraunt know if your using your disney dining plan before you order?

also is it possible to book a table at the cinderella castle if your using the dining plan to pay for it. im going in september, do you think booking will be needed?

We haven't made an ADR or eaten at CRT so unfortunately I can't answer your specific question, however I'd generally advise folks to make ADRs for every TS.

When you call Disney Dining, you'll be asked if you're on the DDP, and again when you check in at the restaurant's podium. Oh, and don't be surprised if the CM mentions it when your order is about to be taken.

Yes, I would let the restaurant know when I'm seated that we're on the dining plan incase there's something on the menu that isn't included.
You must make an ADR for CRT if you wish to dine there. It is probably the most popular ADR ever made at WDW. Call 180 days before the day you wish to dine. Some people get on the phone exactly the minute they start accepting reservations at 7am EST at WDW, to ensure they get a table. They do accept the dining plan at CRT but they will still need a credit card number incase you don't show up but it wont be charged unless you don't show up for the reservation.
