Dining plan price increase

Effective today the WDW dining plan saw about a 3% increase in price.

I was being sarcastic. They just raised the prices of nearly every food item on property between $0.50 and $3 (most items which were $10-$15 have gone up at least $1, most are up $1-$2 for anything over that). So just a 3% raise in price is much better than what they did everywhere else (though I'm with you, I can't see any savings out of it).

Does this impact you if you already booked your trip, but have not paid in full yet? Using an agent and book months ago, trip is in May.

No as long as you have the deposit in you should be fine.

We used the dining plan the first time on a trip in 2003 or 2004, shortly after they started it. That was the last time it actually saved us money. At this point it is simply a waiting game to see what Disney can charge us more for and who is willing to pay.

I see they had no problem selling 999 subscriptions to the "Scare packages"... Sometimes I am honestly surprised at what Disney fans are willing to pay for.

Yesterday, we decided to price out our table service meals vs the cost for the dining plan. If we did the middle plan (Deluxe? the one with 1TB, 1QS & 1 Snack) we realized the only way it would save us money is if we did character meals or signature dining for every single one of our table services. Otherwise you come out ahead paying out of pocket.

Geez, I'm not going to say its not worth the cost. I just cant eat that much cake! Back in the day, when it included an app, it was the bee's knees. I just cant eat that much food. It is a complete waste for me. But as far as my trips go, I eat breakfast and lunch in my hotel room and eat a nice TS for dinner and come out way ahead.
