Can you order off the whole menu or are you limited to only certain things with the dining plan?

BTW this was my 1,000th post !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :dance3:

Whole menu (except in certain instances, e.g. Tony's Town Square now limits DDP Guests to a dessert sampler - if you want something different you need to pay out of pocket).

Such restrictions are relatively uncommon within the Dining Plan. Of the hundreds of eateries and thousands of items on all the menus at all those eateries, there are only three or four such exceptions.

I just remember them asking us at Alfredos if we were on the dining plan before recommending an appetizer- and the waiter said if we had been we would not be able to get the particular appetizer. Just curious, I have never done the dining plan before - as we have a friend who is a cast member friend who gets us cheap hotel rates and we never eat at big restaurants, but maybe once we have kids, we may do that if it is still around... Thanks for the infor

We were able to order anything off of the menu at all the places we ate at in August: CRT, WCC, Le Cellier & Cap' N' Jacks. Obviously, the buffets, too.

I think, but am not sure, that you cannot have the lobster tail add on any more at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

While some restaurants generously gave Dining Plan guests "add-ons" for free when the Dining Plan first started, they were never included in the Dining Plan, and you'll generally not encounter that now. Dining Plan guests are entitled to just individual appetizer, entree and desserts selections which are intended for one diner (though in some cases, restaurants will allow two Dining Plan guests to order something intended "for two", but just one between the two of them), no add-ons.

For our Honeymoon we would have easily spent around $1000 on the food, if we ordered exactly what we ordered on the Dining Plan, which we managed to get for free.

We had no restrictions on the Dinining plan, except:
At most locations snacks must be priced under $5.00 with tax, all though there are exceptions to this rule, such as at most bakeries in the World Showcase.

No alcholic beverages of course (we don't drink anyway, so mo big deal for us, but of interesting note this does not apply to the Hoopde-Doo Musical Review where certain Alcholic Beverages are included in the price anyway)

And

Coral Reef Cafe Excluded Specialty Drinks

Here's the List of Sit Down restraunts that we ate at on the Dining Plan:
Cinderella's Royal Table (this takes 2 sit down dining plan certificates per meal, but worth it, you also get a photo with Cinderella included, which again is an exception to thier rule that photos are not to be included on the dining plan)

Prime Time Cafe

Coral Reef

Hoop Dee Doo

50's Prime Time Cafe
San Angel Inn
Princess Storybook

And the African Buffet in Animal Kingdom Lodge, but I can't remember the name of it right now.

Most of our Counter Servies meals were around $20 a plate as well.

Another tip is when you are having a large sitdown meal, to use only one Counter Service at a place that gives a lot of food, such as Cosmic Rays and order the Rib and Chicken Platter and share it between two people.
