I have absolutely NO IDEA where to post this question, so forgive me in advance if this was not the best place to put it. :flower3:

I recently rented DVC points for a June trip. At the time of booking, I was asked if I wanted the dining plan (since the DVC member has to book it for me)... I said "no thanks."

Now... I realize I DO want it, BUT contracts are finalized, I'm already paid in full, yada yada.

 I am an annual passholder (and while I realize this is a loooonnnngshot)- Could I book the dining plan MYSELF, as I normally would had i booked a room-only reservation???

I have an email to the DVC rental group waiting to be answered as to whether I can get the renting memberto add the dining plan at this late time (after the contract and payment have been finalized) I was just wondering if my plan B was feasible.

TIA, Stacey

Sorry, since the member owns the reservation, only they can make changes to it. The dining plan can only be added through DVC Member Services.

Did you go through a service? You can't do it yourself, but the member can, until 48 hours out. They have to pay upfront, so you will have to do another payment, in advance this time. It just depends on whether they want to go to the trouble for you. I would hope they would.

Alternatively, since you are an AP holder, have you looked into the Tables in Wonderland (TIW) card? Many people think it's a better value than the dining plan.

Thank you both for your replies. I did my point renting through the well-known service that is usually on a banner ad on the top of your screen. ;)
I am still waiting for a reply on that question I asked them (which is cool because I didn't ask until after 11:30 last night, and I have to assume that other people have lives outside of Disney, unlike myself ) I had to pay 100% already to secure the reservation. I would have NO problem with doing another full-pay, if they'd add dining for me... I'll just have to wait and see.

I do have a TIW card, and I too keep doing the math on that one. The cost per person at ONE non-signature restaurantwould equal the cost of a whole day of dining plan, so it's like getting the quick serve and the snack for free. Also, we love to get appetizers, and we'd never try a signature restaurant without the deluxe plan. All the TIW card does for me is knock off the added cost of gratuity. It removes 20% from original bill, then adds 18% (assessed by the original bill) back on for gratuity. I save 2% (which I usually give back to the server :thumbsup2 The TIW card really is great for beverages though!!

Do you have your dining reservations made? Did you make them with using the DDP in mind? If not, I wouldn't add the DDP 3 months out.

Thanks for the recommendation, but all the ADRs are made, Deluxe Dining Plan in mind :goodvibes

My "travel agent" as I like to call him :rotfl: and I spoke this morning and I was able to get the DVC member to add it for me. :thumbsup2
