DH and I have an 8 night pkg. w/dining at CSR Oct 13-21. Our flight arrives very early so we will be at the resort in time for lunch on the 13th. On our last day of the package, we will be moving to the Best Western on Hotel Plaza Blvd for an additional 3 nights. The dining plan is good until midnight of check out day at CSR. We just realized that we will only have the dining plan for the first 8 days, so that we will have to pay out of pocket on our last day at CSR. Not a complaint, just an observation that I haven't seen posted before.

Just a question.... are you planning on eating on using all of the "points" each day or are you spreading them out?

Just wondering, sometimes we were ok just having a "snack" for breakfast and did not use our CS one day-- so it could be used on check out day (we didn't plan it that way but it happened) just wondering.

it seems like this happens alot. sometimes planned, sometimes not. it has been brought up before though. it seems like DW should consider offering you the option of adding check-out day though, since many people have late flights and such. but i guess for most people they either get in late on check-in day and don't use a TC, CS, and snack that day, or some other day during the trip they don't, and then that is what they use the last day.

I'm confused:

The dining plan is good until midnight of check out day at CSR. If it's good till midnight of checkout day, don't you get the dinning plan on check out day? Or you just get to use whatever is not used up by that point? You don't get the meal plan for the actual CHEKC OUT DAY. Meaning if you book a 5 night six day plan, you only get the points for 5 days not 6?

Interesting, I hadn't realized that. Ok so let me get this right. We buy a 5 night six day room with free dining package and we get food credits for FIVE days, that have to be used withing the SIX days we are there right?

Right! But, if you don't use a full day's worth of credits on your arrival day, you'll have left over credits to use on your departure day. We are staying for 7 nights/8 days, and we will be eating lunch and dinner our day of arrival and breakfast and lunch on our day of departure. Because of the large portions, we will share some meals, and have enough credits for a nice Character b'fast and CS lunch before we leave.

Making your credits last for the whole time of your vacation can be done- in fact, I worry that we will end up with unused credits at the end of our trip!

Thanks. I think this is what we will do. We're staying longer then the package so that last day we'll be able to use whatever is left over and then cash in the non-perishable snacks that we can use the next 4 days or so. Actually this may work well for us as to be honest, it does seem like a lot of food, this will just spread it out further. Thanks.
