Dining Plan limitations?

Has anyone gone recently and had any problems with the dining plan as far as having to eat at certain times, etc... Friends of ours just came back and someone staying at their resort was having problems with it she said because it had limitations of times you could use it, she said it had in "fine" print only during hours of or something like that?? Does anyone know what she is talking about or had any problems using it? We were considering it for our family of 4 but now I'm wondering if its a good idea. WE are going in Oct 7 (right after the free dining offer is over).

There have been lots of posts about the dining plan on this board and I have never heard of anything like that.

If they were having problems, my guess would be it was because they were trying to make their ADR's while on their vacation instead of making them ahead of time. If that is the case, I could see a problem with popular restaurants not having any seating times available.

I'm sure it does make some kind of reference in fine print to seating being available.

I would not worry about it.

We used the dining plan for our June visit and no one ever said anything about the times we were eating, and believe me we ate at just about every time imaginable. I have heard of people that did not make ADR's and they could not find a lot of places to choose from as most were booked. I planned ahead and had my list to my TA about a week before the 90 day mark and got everywhere I wanted. I did make a few changes about a week before and had no problems with that either.

My guess is they were trying to use an AP discount. With your AP you get 10% off at some restaurants but it's only during lunch hours. This is the only program I've heard of with time limitations on when you can use it.
