Dining plan for only some family members?

Are you allowed to book the dining plan for only certain members of your party? It doesn't look like it's an option online, but I thought you may be able to call Disney and do it that way. The dining plan would be well worth it for 5 of us, but my MIL has a gastric sleeve and would never in a million years be able to eat all that the dining plan provides. Can five of us use dining plan and then pay out of pocket for her meal?

Now - If you were to put her in a different room on a seperate reservation, then yes - but you can't, say, have her and you in a room and only have the plan for you

Sorry!

Yeah, we will all be in a villa, so that won't work. Oh well, I guess we'll just do out of pocket. She eats so little that more often than not she will just share off someone's plate, so it would be an enormous waste of money to buy the dining plan for her. Thanks for the help!

The dining plan credits are pooled to the room so anyone in the room can use her credits. If you have 2 credit meals planned any credits on her plan can be used by the rest of you. At buffets, family style AYCTE venues and fixed price dinner shows and events she will be charged regardless of how little she eats so she can use her credits at these places.

That is a good point... we would definitely have 2 credit meals planned since the rest of us are a bunch of foodies! Not a bad idea at all!!

I would look at your dining choices and see if someone else can use her credits. WE tend to have more dining planned than we have credits, but found that if my DDIL (she had a GBP years ago) shares with someone, it all works out. SHe does not eat a lot, so with the exception of the character meals and the AYCTE meals, she will often choose to share with one of us.

ETA: Please remember that if your MIL joins you at any buffet or AYCTE restaurant she will be required to either pay or use a credit. You may need to save some of those credits for her to use if you have any of this type of meal planned.
