Dining Plan for only part of stay?

So I did "segmented" in Dec.
MS said no sweat, no check in - check outs. They are just linked ressies. BC said yup you gotta check in check out, they are linked so you do not have to change rooms, but that is it. New keys each switch, and my dining ending (from my old room key) as soon as I checked into my "new room". It was the same room, I did end up getting cleaning as well.
BC did go ahead and have me room charge my "old" dining plan to my new room key whe the old one didn't work, but it was A HUGE pain, and I spent 20 min or more every morning at check in fixing it. I shorted my self 2 snacks, cause I didn't want to deal with it.

MAYBE they fixed it since then, but as of 12-16 - 12-24.. it was not.

I am sorry that happened with you but I hope that it is fixed by August. I did read on the dining plan board that some cash guests were having the same issue with credits not working after check out, so maybe it was the new system and not so much the linked reservation.

We are switching resorts on one of the days so that would have happened anyway so hopefully, it goes well.
 
We did this in January when we were switching resorts anyway (due to availability). It worked, but was somewhat of a hassle. I'm not sure if it had to do with the dining plan or our park tickets or charging privileges, but the keys kept resetting and not working to open the doors. It all worked out in the end, but required more time at the front desk than ideal. We had to keep our old room keys until we used up all the credits on the day of checkout, then threw them out.

I'd do it again, even with the hassle. It was nice to have the extra day to use up our credits. Too much food, in my opinion, if you don't have some wiggle room to spread the credits out over more days.
 
I just added DDP onto my May trip. I skipped 1st night and added it to last 5 nights.

She did it after putting me on hold and stating they were not going to be doing this shortly. She stated that they are changing this soon, as it is not working out, came back after 10 mins .. said it was okat right now. She linked the 3 #s up.

I am not sure if she was making stuff up, or serious, but if it is true; the segmented band wagon may not last. Assuming this is something you want. It may get taken away. .. So if you are planning it.. maybe Jump.

According to the CM I just spoke with, who had me on hold for a bit, this will not be discontinued any time soon. In her words "this is new & has had such a good response". Thank goodness, b/c I am not ready to pay for the plan just yet.
