Okay, made ressies today for our stay for May/June 2010.

We begin our stay at BCV from 5/30-6/2 then we move to AKV form 6/2-6/6. The CM I spoke to today told me that when I do call to add on the dining plan option, I will have to add it for each stay (i.e. the first three night and then the last four nights).

So anyway, the hubster asks me about 6/2 and the two seperate bookings overlapping on 6/2. As he reminded me, your dining plan is still valid on the day of check-out.

So does this mean I call and add on the DP for 5/30-6/2 and then 6/3-6/6?

How do I handle this overlap?

Also, I haven't searched, but will Disney continue the special birthday freebies (your choice of free admission, or gift card in lieu of admission, or Bday fastpasses) next year? Just wondering, my b-day falls during that time............

The dining plan is tied to the nights you stay in the resort. So you would have 3 nights on the first part (5/30, 5/31 and 6/1) and 4 nights on the second part (6/2, 6/3, 6/4 and 6/5). Your credits from part 1 of your stay will be good until midnight on that checkout day, 6/2. Then they will expire. Your credits from part 2 of your stay will start whenever you check in on 6/2 and be good until midnight on 6/6.

The birthday thing is ending 12/31 -- next year's promo is the Give a Day, Get a Day volunteer promotion.

Your dining credits are tied to your room card so if you are going to carry over credits after check out, keep your room card.

You can buy the DDP for the first half of your stay, the second half, or both.

You can also change the type of plan, DDP first half and QSDP second half etc.

:) Bill

I agree with all of the above. Disney has strick rules. You buy the DDP as is or you don't - no negotiating.

Really, other than the cost you may have been considering, the slight overlap can allow you to have one of those 2TS meals and still have TS everyday.

This would be a perfect oppotunity to try the Deluxe Dining Plan for the BCV part of your stay (3 nights), then either Quick Service or basic DDP for the AKV part(4 nights). We did this on a split stay last year and it worked great. Wouldn't get the Deluxe plan for a full 7 nights though. Way to much food!

I did a split stay at 3 resorts in August and had 3 different dining plan options set up. The first 2 nights were QSDP, the 2nd two were DDP, and the last 3 nights were QSDP.

My goal was to end up with an extra 3 CS meals for our last day so the kids could have a breakfast before heading to the airport.

Since, as you mention, there is overlap on your check out/check in day, I simply finished up with one plan before starting another. When we checked out at BWV at Day 2, we still had 3 snacks and 1 CS left. When we went to lunch, I just ordered separately--just gave them the BWV card for the one meal and then gave them my new card from BLT for the rest. By the end, I had what I needed.

Good luck!

Or any variations. QSP for one and basic for another, one plan for one portion and no plan for the other, etc.
