We've never done the dining option before. Well, never done Disney w/ a child either. Would this be good for a child this young? Not really sure how much he'll be eating by then since this is all new to me. $10 bucks doesn't sound too bad though. Thanks for your help.

The dining plan is for children ages 3-9. I'm not sure what the younger ones do. Hopefully someone will have the answer to that one.

Our daughter will be 13 mths old when we go and we are just going to let her eat off our plate. From what I was told a child that young cannot be on the plan it is only for ages 3 and up. You can order her food off the menu and pay out of pocket but if it were me I would just let her share off your plate because from what I hear it is more than enough food to share. A 15 mth old doesn't eat a whole lot anyway. I am sure she will be more occupied with her surroundings and too excited to eat most of the time anyway.. :flower: I sure wish that was my problem and then I would not be carrying around this extra weight on my rear end..LOL

oops I thought you said you had a daughter...My bad you have a son..

SORRY!!!!

We did the Dream Maker Silver plan back in December and traveled with a 16-month-old. The Silver plan included, basically, two meals a day. It was a TON of food since, just like the new plan, you got appetizer, entree and dessert and there was plenty to share with the baby. I did bring kid friendly snacks like organic fruit/applesauce/even a couple jars of baby food veggies so I could get some veggies into him. Even our 4-year-old ate off our plates a couple times and that enabled us to save our wishes (the old form of currency for meals and activities) for other stuff.

I know the plans are a little different but I wanted to assure you that there should be enough food to feed your DS from your plates ...

We just went with our 3 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old (we were on the dining plan), and the 2 year old ate free at buffets (nice!) and at counter service and other restaurants, she either shared with her brother and me or we ordered her her own meal. Many kids meals are only $4 or so, so when we did it it was no big deal. I also brought jars of peanut butter and jelly and some bagels in my carry on bag, so she could eat that sometimes. With a 15 month old, sharing should work and you probably wouldn't have to buy her anything.

FYI - because she ate free at buffets, we did eat at alot of them for dinner throughout our trip.

We're taking our DD (will be 18 mo at the time) on the trip in May, the rest of us (DH, myself and DS age 4) will be on the dining plan. Her appetite is hit or miss at home, so we won't be ordering her a separate meal. Our idea is that we can all share, and if someone is still hungry, we can always order more and pay out of pocket. We'll be packing healthy snacks and such too, not too worried about it. BTW- We found out on our last trip (Oct 2004) that most restaurants sell whole milk, just ask specifically for it because they also sell low-fat.

I believe the dinning plan is for ages 3 & up.

Children under 3 are free at buffets.

If you are on a dining plan & you want your under 3 year old to have their own plate, you need to pay out of pocket for it.
