Dining plan ? - coupons, credits...?

I have a question about the Dining Plan. Do you get actual "coupons" for the meals (as some on this board has called them)? Or is there a credit on the "credit card type thing" that also is your room key?

Since it has been referred to as both, I am confused.

Your meals are credited to the room key. There aren't vouchers or anything you have to keep track of besides the room key. All of the meals are pooled onto the room keys- so one person can use their key card to purchase meals for their whole party. The key cards don't have to be individually scanned.
