I know you get a combo meal or entree, drink and dessert..... However, can you get any drink (bottled water, flavored water? latte? Do you get small or large drink included????) and can you get any dessert--like at Sunshine Seasons can you get Asian chocolate cheesecake or fruit cup??? ice cream?

Any other counter service meal use tips would be appreciated!!!

and do you get the refillable mugs when you check in for the QS plan???

Thanks Bunches!!!!

You can get any size or bottled drink where available
For adults you can usually get any desert but most cs don't have deserts like Sunshine Seasons

I always told the person at the counter that I was on the DDP when I first walked up. They always gave me the larger size beverage which was great because it was so hot and yes I NEEDED all that lemonade! ;)

They let me get strawberry yogurt for dessert at Cosmic Ray's in MK. I did not feel like having a piece of cake, and I knew my younger son would love some strawberry yogurt so I got it for him to enjoy. I am normally a dessert person but that time I was fine with just my meal, so I opted to do the yogurt thing for my son. You could also get any fruit that is available at the CS location as your dessert. We did this too. That's one of the things I love about the dining plan...I normally eat a fruit just after eating lunch, on a daily basis. I was able to do this at WDW when I wanted to as well.

At the Pop Century food court, they allowed me to pick any dessert that they carried. This was a huge variety that included various delicious baked goods, Mickey ice cream novelties, Haagen Dazs ice cream pops (my DH loved those and JUMPED at the opportunity!), or an ice cream dessert from their ice cream counter. They allowed you to go back after eating your meal to get your ice cream so it would not melt, and I have read reports here of other CS locations doing the same thing. I think they just put something on your receipt to indicate it. Just remember though, you can't leave for the whole day and then go back and get your ice cream like 6 hours later! It had to be right at the end of your meal!

Some CS locations also offer delicious cookies as a dessert option. These are great because you could take them with you to enjoy later on if you wish.

Another great thing about the CS locations at Disney is that there is a ton of variety. We were there for 5 days last July and I only ate 1 burger (and that was just because I was in the mood for one!). My other CS meals consisted of a delicious grilled chicken flatbread at Pop Century food court; a shawarma meal at the CS location in Morocco at Epcot; BBQ pulled pork sandwich at Flame Tree BBQ in AK; a salad with chicken in it at Pizza Planet in DHS. All were very good and none of us ever got bored with the food at WDW! We did the same with TS ADRs...we made sure there was variety. We did 2 character buffets (Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare), Boma at AKL (African-themed buffet); Biergarten in Germany at Epcot (German buffet with live entertainment during dinner); and Liberty Tree Tavern at MK (family-style Thanksgiving-type feast; there used to be characters there last year when we went).

I loved the food and can't wait to go for 10 nights next summer and enjoy even more of it! Even the character breakfast buffets each have their own specialties that make them unique!

Thank you for mentioning all the CS meals you got. I've been trying to figure out where we would get the most for our credits while on the QSP in September. Those are great ideas.

If you like Ribs or BBQ chicken try Flame Tree BBQ at the Animal Kingdom.

You must try Sunshine Seasons! The food is really fresh &, IMHO, the best CS is WDW. You can get a latte, bakery item (like the ones you listed above- my fave is the strawberry shortcake cake), and their super delicious meals. I especially like their awesome salads, but my friends really enjoyed their rotisserie meals. We also like getting CS meals at our resort b/c you can get a Mickey ice cream or a Mickey rice crispy treat as your dessert (plus, a large bottle of water to hang onto until later). Plus, our 2 friends shared a CS double bacon cheeseburger on our last trip- it helped them save an extra CS credit for another meal. (They did the same with the rib & chicken combo at Cosmic Ray's Cafe in MK. They used a snack credit as an extra side to make it a full meal for both of them.) In 2006, we were able to trade a few CS credits at the food court for pizza. It came with drinks, salad, and desserts. (We ordered it in person for 1 credit. Don't have it delivered though- it wastes 2 credits!) As for your mug, you should be able to get it at your resort's CS restaurant.

We found that if we ordered a "large drink" with the meal it would be included whereas if we just ordered a "drink" we would get a small one.

BTW, you can purchase the mugs at any food court with your KTTW cards.

Also - the 2 restaurants that used to serve McDonalds fare have been updated to include combo meals on the menu. These CS restaurants (EPCOT's Refreshment Port and MK's Golden Oak Outpost) do not have kid's meals, so child credits can get you the 8 nuggets meal with fries, a large drink, and dessert (a "McFlurry"-style ice cream at Refreshment Port).

We had to change our vacation from May with DxDDP to April over easter, less than 1 month before the trip. Needless to say, we couldn't get very many reservations, so we decided to get the QS plan and buy a few dinners out of pocket. My daughter, grandsons (3 and 1), and my son in law, on R&R from Iraq, were there for 16 days. I arrived later and was there for 9 days.

We were VERY happy with the QS dining plan! Our favorites were as follows:

WGPE in DTD: Everything here was great! We ate dinner (2x) and breakfast there(2x). There is not a kids menu for breakfast, so my grandson got a HUGE fruit and whipped cream waffle! His eyes opened up so big when they brought it to him!! Loved the 1/2 chicken and mashed potato dinner! Yumm!

MK: Cosmic Rays, rib and chicken platter with potatoes and yummy green beans (again I shared with both of my grandsons, this was HUGE also!
Columbia Harbour House. Yumm!
Great snack credit uses are the cinnamon rolls from Main street bakery for breakfast and the ice cream cookie sandwhiches for an afternoon treat. At least two of us shared the cinnamon rolls and 3 of us the ice cream and couldn't finish either one!

Epcot: Schwarma platter! Fantastic value for a different meal.
For snacks, kaki gori, yum! And the bakery in Norway! But there are so many great choices here. Last trip we ate at sunshine seasons and we liked everything except the chinese food.

AK: We like Pizzafari as this is where the kids will eat the best. They both LOVE pizza, so we used a leftover adult credit to get them one to share (and I just wanted breadsticks, so paid for them OOP.
They have ice cream cookie sandwhiches at this park also.

Hollywood studios: My daughter loved ABC comissary. :scared: The garbage can ate more than I did. Next time I will encourage her strongly to try starring rolls cafe as their sandwhiches are supposed to be really good, along with their pastry desserts.;)

SSR: Their flatbreads are fantastic, especially the chicken/artichoke!! I had this twice. They also have a yummy turkey sandwhich.

Disappointments for me: Pecos Bills. I heard a lot about the turkey wrap and mine was soggy and not at all fresh tasting.

Goofys candy co.: True, not a meal, but a snack heaven. Love the make your own pretzel rods. Take quite awhile to eat though, they are so sweet. I ended up bringing some home even.

Even though we didn't do the plan to save money, we saved a lot!:)
