I want to make sure i understand the Counter service part of the dining plan. If i go to Pecos Bill's i can get a burger and fries (combo meal), plus dessert and drink. But if i would go to Casey's Corner, i could only get a hot dog (No fries, they don't have combos), dessert and drink. Is that right? Also i see a lot of people get rice Krispie treats for a snack, but its not on the snack list, is there a certain place that is allowing this?
THANKS! :flower:

You are pretty much right on target, According to plan rules At CS you get

A complete combo meal and drink OR entree, dessert and drink.

I do not think the Pecos Bill Burger(with fries) is considered a COMPLETE combo meal, if it is you would not be allowed a dessert(according to rules). But if the menu(I have not checked it) includes Burgers solo without the fries, you would have to order that to be allowed a dessert.

Yes some places do allow them, we got them at Main Street Bakery and the WL mercentile. We were turned down at the SSR(Artist Pallet), but they allowed some huge cookies that I actually prefered. All you do is ask a CM what snacks are allowed.

OK, so what would be a complete combo meal? We're using the plan for the first time next week so I was wondering. Thanks!

We did not go to Casey's so I cannot answer that question; however, with cs I was able to order combo meal (burger, fries), drink and dessert. At Pop when we ordered a pizza, we did not get a salad or bread (no side). We got the pizza, drink and dessert.

I hope this clarifies things a little for you.

Ok, i think i got it. If we prefer no fries, but dessert we can go to Casey's, and get a hot dog, dessert, and drink, since they don't have the combo meals. If we prefer a combo meal with no dessert, we could go to Pecos bills, or flame tree and get a combo meal, and drink, correct? I guess i have to see if my kids prefer fry's or dessert! :rotfl2:

we got a dessert either way. Whether we got the combo meal or entree only. Drinks and dessert are standard. This was our experience anyways.

The brochure used to say you got a combo meal with dessert. Unless the combo meal already includes dessert, basically a kids meal, you got to add a dessert and drink to the combo meal. Some of the CS places let you substitute either grapes or carrot sticks for fries.

I'm sure if Disney stopped giving out desserts to guests who order the burger/fries combo we would have seen long threads on the cutback.

Dessert is no longer included with breakfast (both CS and TS).

I said "IF" it is considered a "COMPLETE" combo meal you would not be allowed dessert. But I do not think that is the case, you should still be allowed dessert with that Burger and fries.

I think to be considered a "COMPLETE" combo it should be stated clearly on the menu as such.

In Dec we used the Dining plan and DID eat at Casey's and got fries with our CS MEal....
So, unless things have changed, you should be able to get the hot dog, fries, dessert and drink.

at CS think of it like this:
1 entree or combo meal (sometimes salads are single entrees, sometimes pizza is just a pizza with no extras like salad)
1 drink and
1 dessert

so for example I could get a salad and a diet coke as well as a dessert at Pinocchios, I could get a sandwich combo meal (sandwich and chips)with a coke and dessert. At Pinocchio's if I order the children's meal I would get a drink, turkey roll up, grapes, goldfish crackers and a suger free jello cup--so it is a full meal.

So the kids don't get a separate dessert if they order a kids meal?

Yvonne

I will say that if you ever are confused the CMs are great about helping.Simply ask the cashier when ordering what can be included.Several times I was remimded if I did not order enough food. :)

We ate at Caseys in June and got hot dogs, fries, drink and dessert and pain nothing out of pocket. That was our first CS meal, so I really remember being surprised that it was all included lol
