Dining Plan and Tip Paying

Can someone tell me if it's true that the tips are not included in the DDP? This will be the first time we have used it and are working on our budget. If it is not included, how does it work?

It's true, DDP does not include the tip anymore.

We just put a credit card on file when we checked into the resort and added the tip when they brought the bill for table service.

It does make DDP less of a "deal" than it was, but all in all we still found it to be a good value.

The tip is not included this year (or next).

Just like at a regular restaurant, you should leave a tip according to the service you receive, usually 15-20%. At the end of the meal, the server will give you a "bill". It will tell you what the price would have been had you not been on the dining plan so it will be easy to figure out the tip. They actually calculate what 18% of the check is and what 20% of the check is.

You can either leave cash, pay with a credit card or charge it back to your room. You can even pay with Disney Dollars.
