Dining plan and tickets??

We have the DxDDP for our 7 day trip this October and my twins will be 9 at time of travel. When we got the DxDDP we paid 2 adult ( DH and myself) and 2 children. I guess my question is if i were to buy adult tickets for my children will this have any effect on their dining plan on whether they can order off the adult menu or not? I am not sure how that would work if I decided to buy the adult tickets.

Why would you buy adult tickets for your kids? The kids tickets are cheaper and they're the same ticket as the adults. There's no advantage to buying them adult tickets at all.

For the deluxe plan, I don't believe there's an advantage because the kids are already allowed to order off the adult menu. It may make a difference if you had the regular DDP - on free dining - as it's cheaper to upgrade the child ticket to an adult so you won't be locked into the kids meal choices (and can use them for yourself if the kids aren't using them). I believe this only applies when it's free dining, however.

If you're paying for it, the. Buying adult tickets will only force you to pay adult prices for them.

We already bought the DxDDP back in March besides we are DVC so the free dining would not apply . I was wondering if it would make a difference when ordering.

No, the tickets have no impact on ordering. But if you buy adult tickets and age up the children, they might make you pay the adult price for the dining plan.

I guess I will leave them for a child ticket after all this will be the last year I can do that.

Since it's a DVC reservation, they'll probably catch the mismatch and cancel the entire dining plan but neglect to tell you. You should review the threads about children's credits on the deluxe plan.

At some restaurants, yes. However, in the 2016 DxDDP brochure it still says:

• Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available.

So a Table Service restaurant can require children to order from the kids' menu. This is more likely at third party restaurants that are reimbursed according to the written rules of the dining plan.

At CS restaurants there is no differentiation of credits so everyone can order an adult entree.

That is true about kids meals I guess we will just have to wait and see.
