dining plan and tickets

Hi

I am staying at a disney resort next summer and I have purchased my disney tickets independently (paper tickets) rather than through my travel agent and added on to my room. Would we still be eligible to add on a dining plan? Thanks!

AFAIK, You must purchase the DDP as part of a package (room, MYW tix and DDP).

That is correct. Unless you're a DVC member staying on points, you must purchase admission along with the package that includes the Dining Plan. Sorry.

People renting points for DVC accomodations have also been able to add the DDP without adding tickets.

No, but......

You could book the package with just one-day park tickets. You will still get the DDP for the whole trip, but will use the one-day tickets plus the ones you have purchased to get into the parks.

If you will be returning to the parks at some future point, you may also want to book the package and save the tickets you have already purchased.

Basically, it all comes down to crunching a few numbers to work out which option works for you personally. A lot comes down to your particular situation and any discounts/deals you can take advantage of.....

I dont know if the timing has already past for this to be helpful but here goes...

I purchassed my tickets from ticketmania. Then booked my room. Well hubbie and I started crunching numbers and realized that the dining wasnt as astronomical as we thought. 5 days later I realized that my ticketmania had a ship date a week out from ordering. I called them and canelled my order NO BIG DEAL (since they hadnt been shipped yet) and had a credit back on my card just a few days later and made myself a package ressie at the world.
