Dining plan and Split Stay

We are wanting to do add the dining plan to our trip but we are doing a split stay. The reason we want to do the dining plan is because we want to have the trip paid for when we get there. BUT since we are doing a split stay it is making it more difficult to figure out. Can anyone give me some advice on the best way to go about a split stay and the dining plan?

I'm sure others will chime in on this, but I might suggest just doing the dining plan for one part of your stay. Sometimes it can be so much food! I love the plan, but if you did half with and half without, you could load the days you have the plan with the expensive meals.

I too really like the "prepaid" aspect, so you might consider purchasing Disney gift cards in advance. Apply all of your gratuities and non dining plan meals to your magic band, and pay at the front desk with gcs every few days.

I think you'll save some money this way too! Have fun!

Smart about the gift cards. I think we will do the dining plan on the second part. Its the longest part of the trip anyway. I just love having everything paid for and not thinking about it at all. What kind of dining plan do yall suggest?

Booking the dining plan on a split stay is very easy. In order to do this, you would book your room, length-of-stay tickets (to cover both resort stays) and the dining plan for the first reservation and then a "ticketless package" (room and dining plan) for your second reservation. The second reservation would need to be called in as you can't book a ticketless package online.

I would sketch out a preliminary list of where you want to eat to determine which dining plan is right for you. It seems most people purchase the Disney Dining Plan which gives you 1 QS, 1 TS and 1 snack per day plus a refillable mug.
