Dining plan and split stay?

Am looking to do the deluxe dining plan for the first 4 nights of my stay at POR... and then for the last two nights am switching to one of the value resorts, to book as a room only, no dining.
The dining plan will still be in effect up till midnight on the day that I switch rooms - but wondered if when I check in on that day to the second resort, if those dining credits, which should still be good til midnight, will still be active, OR if upon checking in elsewhere I then lose them? That's my concern, that once I check into the second resort that those dining credits become void, or will they still be good till midnight?
Thanks!!

The credits are still good. Last year we stayed at AKL for the first part of our stay with dining then moved to POR for the last portion, room only. We used our last meal after checking into the POR with no problems. Have fun!

Okay....... Is it only if you are changing resports that you can change your dining ? I had asked if I could make 1/2 my trip DDP and 1/2 not and I was told by am CM no.... it's all or nothing.

That depends. If you are not an AP holder or a DVC member you would have to book a package with tickets for both stays in order to get the dining plan for both stays. You couldn't book all your tickets with the first stay and then no tickets with the second. And since MYW tickets get less expensive the more days you buy, it isn't a good deal to buy tickets for the length of each separate stay.

Only AP holders and DVC members can get the dining plan without also buying tickets.

If you have booked a single stay, you must get the same dining plan for the duration of that stay. Not only that, but everyone in the room must be on the same plan.

Still a little confused - want to make sure I got this right!

First resort - 6-9th. that's for 3 nights, 6th, 7th and 8th. So with deluxe dining I have 9 TS credits. On the 9th I check out. I plan on having credit left for TS lunch and dinner on the 9th. I will have NO problem using those remaining credits on the 9th, right? Then will be checking in on the 9th to new resort till the 12th, without dining plan - but technically I will still have it all day on the 9th because I have till midnight that day to use up any unused credits. So... is that the way it works? Can still use the dining plan, what I have unused on it up till midnight of the day I check out?

When i called to change my reservation and add the second resort - asking about the dining plan and the CM insisted they expire at midnight on my last NIGHT staying there - which would be the 8th they would expire. I said I thought I had till midnight the day of my checkout to use my dining plan - and she said no, at midnight on the last night they expire.

I have always used my dining credits the day I checked out... CM must have misspoke... you should be fine on the 9th.

That is incorrect. If you are checking out of the resort on the 9th, any dining credits you have that are still unused will not expire until midnight of the 9th (which at that point is the 10th, so you can use them for the entire day on the 9th).

Thanks for the help!
Now just trying to plan my cheaper meals for my last days w/o the dining plan!

Your dining credits are tied to your room key - they are good the moment you checkin to midnight of the day you check out. You do have until midnight the 9th to use your meals up. Starting on the 10th everything else will be out of pocket.

In order to be on the plan for only part of your stay you need to make 2 separate resservations.

I think they need to come up with a DMY package.
Dining My Way

Where you can pick and choose your dining like to do your tickets.
I know they have the different kinds of dining plans... but I'd like to see it be a little more so people can tailor more towards their own needs. 5 of the 10 days you want dining... or 5 of the days Duluex 5 regular......

Of course, as long as I am "wishing" I would wish it would all incl tipping, and be less expensive :)
