I know that this has been asked before, but I cannot seem to find it.

We are a party of 4. Considered to be 3 adults and 1 child...(my oldest child is 11, so considered to be an adult on the dining plan). We are not dining with other people, we don't have friends joining us- it's just US.

My youngest DD (9) is not a big eater, my 11 year old and I could EASILY share MOST of the TS or even a CS meal or two.

I KNOW that we cannot share at the obvious places, like an all you can eat or buffet.

I am not trying to be dishonest or 'cheat the system'. We are just not wasteful people. We are there for 7 nights and 8 full days and we'd love to save a few TS credits to use so we can extend them to the last day instead of having nothing left and paying OOP.

There are some restaurants that serve HUGE portions, is it allowed to share them? Can we order 2 meals for 3 adults? We went to Chefs de France last time and ordered the prix fix meal and I was almost FULL after the appetizer! We are on the dining plan again this time around and I remember how much food we couldn't even eat.

Really, what's the difference? If a person gets all that food, can't eat it all- so they share it...it would just be thrown anyways! Yes, I can see the point of Disney not wanting dining plan people to share with non-dining plan people. That makes sense to me.

If we can do that, which restaurants are definitely against this (OTHER THAN the obvious ones where it's endless food/buffet/all you can eat)? Are there some, that YOU know of that will 'probably do it'?

The only place I wasn't allowed to share a meal with my son (12) was Via Napoli. The other places we shared almost every meal. There is just way too much food and we do lots of snacking while down there. I don't consider it trying to cheat the system. I think it would be much worse if we were wasting a ton of food!

I forgot to mention....we have been on the dining plan when sharing too. This year we plan on sharing meals with my mom since she is going. We will order 2 meals and just share among the 3 of us since we are all on the dining plan.

I agree with PP. Via Napoli takes exception to sharing with DDP. As you know, it's not allowed at buffets or all you care to eat. Otherwise, it's OK to share among those people with DDP. However, if other people at your table did not have DDP, it would not be OK for you to share with them. Big no-no.

As others have said, you can share at most places. Via Napoli is one of the only ones that has consistently not allowed sharing when using the DDP. I've shared at many other places (including Signatures) and it's been fine. If you're at all in doubt, ask your server before you order.

As you already mentioned, you cannot "share" at buffets and all you care to eat places. You also cannot "share" at fixed price meals (e.g., CRT), dinner shows (e.g., HDDR), dining packages (e.g., Candlelight Processional, Fantasmic Dining), or family style meals (e.g., 'Ohana, WCC).
