Dining plan and out of pocket for same meal

We have the dining plan for our trip in a couple of weeks. We will be dining at Narcoosee's, which is 2 credits per meal. If I want to get a smaller meal and not dessert, can we pay for my husbands meal with the dining plan and pay for my meal out of pocket? Or, do we both have to use the dining plan? I think that it would be a better use of credits to spend the 2 credits at Ohana the next night rather than on a small meal for myself at Narcoosee's. Thank you.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just ask for separate checks prior to ordering; this would be the easiest way.

We've done this when our family, with the dining plan, met up with a group for a meal, who did not have the dining plan. Asked for separate checks, ours was paid for with plan, theirs was credit card.

You can pay for one meal OOP and one via the Dining Plan.

Yes, you can use the DDP for 1 meal and pay OOP for the other. Just let the server know ahead of time and it shouldn't be a problem .
