We just played with the numbers and decided to do the dining plan for our 9 night vacation. Initially we had planned on have a grocery delivery to the room, but now with all that food does not seem like we will need that much from the store.

What have others done with this... :confused3

We were planning have bottle water, fresh fruit and Milk deliveried.

We just got back & were on the dining plan...I did order some groceries to be delivered. I used wegoshop.com. I HIGHLY recommend them. They did a great job & were reasonable as well. We tried to do quick breakfasts in the room...so I ordered some cereal & milk...bagels & cream cheese & OJ.We ate all of that. I ordered some snack stuff i.e chips...but that was hardly used.

We usually grabbed a $2 muffin each morning and other than that the dining plan was more than enough for us.

I have 3 young kids...mornings are always a challenge because we always do the early morning entry...so for us it was easier to let them wake up, perk up & eat in the room...

We used "most" of our snack credits on bottled water, and I brought a few things from home in our suitcase (nutrigrain bars, granola bars, Goldfish, peanut butter crackers). There was PLENTY of food to go around with the dining plan. We usually ate a decent breakfast and skipped lunch. A few times, we skipped breakfast (or had a cereal bar) and ate an early lunch. Regardless, I really didn't find a need for a grocery stop at all (we took the ME anyway, instead of Tiffany this time). None of us went hungry (or lost weight, for that matter!)

Water, milk, and fruit doesn't look like it would meet the $50 minimum, which I think is still there, no?

There ought to be a way for Disers to combine a trip and then meet and exchange the deliveries.

Ya know, I'm not sure if there's a minimum...I just remember the shopping fees etc.

Yes it would be nice to combine orders....

You could consider just shlepping the stuff with you...we were at maximun capacity & I couldn't face the thought of taking 1 more thing with.

We are going on the Dining Plan next week and we are using DME for transportation. We decided to use wegoshop.com for some things. Our snack credits can be used at the F & W festival, so our original thought of using them for water in the parks won't work. We will carry bottled water in with us. We are not big breakfast eaters, but we need coffee and juice in the morning. DS drinks cranberry juice all day long, which I don't think I could get in the resort shop. So, I have ordered bottled water, 2 kinds of juice, coffee, beer ,wine, cheese, crackers and probably most importantly for us, a birthday cake for DS.
I don't believe there is a minimum delivery amount, but you do need to determine if the $17 delivery fee will save you any money, over what you would spend for your needs at the resort shop. A single bottle of water in the gift shop is $2.50., and the birthday cake is significanlty less than what I would have paid on site. So for us, it works.
Hope this helps.
