Dining plan and existing reservations

Hi all,

Question one: Does anyone know if I'll be able to add the free dining plan to my reservation online via MDE if its announced? We should qualify fine (CBR hotel king room, flights from UK and 14 park hopper tickets) all booked via WDW website and linked up to MDE.

Second question: will we keep out existing restaurant reservations? I'd hate the loose the ones we've got.

Put simply it just seems almost too good to be true to simply get free dining for nothing (although this 2 week holiday from the UK is costing us A LOT anyway!

To clarify, it's already been announced, it's been going on since 4/27 Monday. Good luck!! I would try online first, then call. IT's been looong waits on hold if you are calling.

Dining reservations are not linked specifically to the free dining promotion. Your existing reservations will work just fine. In fact, I make sure I make my reservations before booking free dining, just to make sure I have reservations that I can live with.

I think you can modify your reservation since it is already a package and you otherwise qualify. However, I think the room type you are looking for still has to be available for the promotion. Disney is more interested in filling empty rooms than adding a promotion to existing reservations. I would encourage you to attempt to make the change quickly; if you have trouble doing it within MDE, you should call or go thru the agent who booked you (if you didn't do it yourself).

We are dvc our last trip was first time with any dinning plan and it didn't effect any adr we had before we bought the ddp all it meant was at the pre paid reservation I had made was we were asked if we wanted to leave it on the card or refund it. It took about 72 hours to get the money back on the card but it may have taken longer because I had a new card issued before the trip because the other one was breached

The 14 day tickets you currently have are available in the UK, but not the US, so it sounds like you booked on the UK Disney website. If you booked through the UK website, I don't know if you can add free dining unless it is currently being offered in the UK and it will probably have to be done on the UK site.

If you cannot add it to your current package, you can book a new package through the US Disney website, but US tickets have a maximum of 10 days. Also, the free dining offer has been available for a while so eligible rooms are getting scarce.

If you are able to add or book a free dining package, it will not affect any dining reservations you already have.

Actually I wouldn't get your hopes up for UK free dining if you are going in 2015. UK free dining offers for 2015 were quite some time ago now selling 2016 offers. If you are going in 2016 you may have more luck.

Give a call, as I saw a lot of availability today!...I know it is an overseas call, but you'd save a lot if you got it! Can a TA take the reservation over and get it for you? Try calling locally first, perhaps?
