Dining plan and AP rates

I posted on the Dining forum, but this may be more appropriate.

May I only get the Dining Plan added onto rack rate rooms? Can I add the dining plan to AP discounted rooms?

You can not get an AP rate if you book the Magic Your Way Package with the dining plan.

hi there. I was wondering this too. I thought I read somewhere that it might be possible to do this if you buy a 1 day MYW park ticket. Is that true?

when you get the dining plan. You must pay rack rate for the room and purchase at least 1 day tickets.

So if you have an AP, you will not be able to take advantage of any AP room discount if you want the dining plan. You'd have to pay rack, purchase 1 day tickets (which we all believe you can hold and put against your AP renewal price) and then purchase the dining plan. You have to determine if the loss of the AP discount plus the price of the dining plan would be less than you would eat, taking into account any discount you can get with the DDE card.

Thanks so much. I kinda figured that is what has to happen but I wasn't sure. I am not sure it will be cost effective for us this year to pay rack rate to get the dining plan but I think it all depends on what happens here with the ap discounts.
