I'm planning to book the Magic your way plus dining. Me, DH & DS 8 will have the dining plan. But I would also like the dining for my 2 &1/2 year old. With the covered snacks and kid's meals it would be well worth it to have him on the plan. Will Disney let me put him on?

I called Disney, for anyone who is interested, They can put my 2 year old down as a 3 year old. I would have to buy a 1 day childs pass. The pass will not expire, so I can put it away for our next Florida trip. I think I'm going to do this. I wonder if I would have to use the 2Year old's dining credit when we go to Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace, or if I can save them?

The the childrens meal plan is 11.99 a day plus the $52 for the one day ticket. on a six day trip this is $20.66 per day for basically the food for a 2 1/2 yo child. (a lot for a $3.99 kids meal and a $3.00 snack.)

Being able to use the tix next year sounds good but unless you are only going one day you would still have to buy more tickets for him. The mutliple day tickets are so discounted (163.98 for 6 day childs ticket or 52.00 for the one day ticket) you would not be saving more than $4 to buy him a 4 day tix instead of the 5. (no savings)

He can eat from your plate at TS meals and Buffets, I'm sure they will give you a plate to put his food on. The TS credits give so much food we were considering ordering 3 adult meals for 5 of us (youngest is 6yo.) An appetizer, meal and dessert per person over 3 should leave plenty to share with 2 yo.

Of course this is just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I was about to say exactly the same thing as Tinker. My DW and I will be going this summer with my DS(2) and are planning on him eating from our plates or OOP on occasion (if we get too adventureous for his tastes). :sunny:

We used the dining plan on our last trip. DH, DD7 and myself were on the plan, and DS2.5 tagged along as a freebie. IMO, I wouldn't pay for the plan for a 2.5 year old. Our son can chow down with the best of them, and he never went hungry. The CS and TS portion sizes are huge, and there was more than enough food to go around. We usually ended up leaving food on all of our plates. All TS restaurants brought out an extra plate for DS without our having to request it. The most we ever did was purchase an extra drink for him at the CS meals.

In answer to your questions about being able to save dining plan credits, you won't be able to do that. All credits will expire on the last day of your trip.

I never thought about splitting the meals. I was thinking that I would have to buy my 2 year old a kid's meal anyway.I always bring a juice box for the 2 year old when we go out to dinner. This way there are no spills. So I never would need to buy him a drink. I guess I could do that in Disney, and save a little Money. The only problem is that my 2 year old likes "his Own" everything. He does not like to share. But if I could get an additional plate he wouldn't even notice that he is sharing our meals.
