On the dining plan is a 16 year old considered a child or an adult? I am looking at my reservation and it looks like they have 1 adult dining plan and 1 child but I don't think his age qualifies him as a "child". I think I may need to call and confirm that with disney. any help would be great thank you.

this is under my reservation that is why I asked:

Dining Plan:2016 Table Service Meals - Adult, 2016 Quick Service Meals, 2016 Table Service Meals - Child

It could be because he counts as a child for resort room occupancy. No need to worry! I've seen people report seeing the same with no Disney kids on their reservation.

That's a common problem reported on the website. Sometimes it lists the child plan even when no children are even on the reservation. No need to worry. That's all they'll tell you if you call, too.

I had child listed on mine and I'm taking a solo trip. I think it's just the wording they use for the dining package. I changed to QS and it's gone now.

We are three adults going (all 18+) and ours still says Child for the dining plan. It's just the general wording they use for everyone. No need to worry!

We are two adults and our reservation on MDE shows
UK Pkg + FREE Dining
2016 Quick Service Meals, 2016 Table Service Meals - Child, 2016 Table Service Meals - Adult

I have DS 16 too and it says the same thing but when diving deeper into the various portions of the package - both my DS 13 and DS 16 are adults for meal and ticket purposes.
