Hi all,

On our upcoming trip our son will turn 3. We know that he does not need a park ticket this trip. We have added the QSDP to our room for my husband and I. We wondering if we could add the dining plan for our son who again will be 2 at beginning of trip and 3 at end of trip?

Thanks!

You would have to buy a park ticket then. Probably cheaper to just pay out of pocket for him.

My understanding is that if the child is not yet 3 on check in then he is considered under 3 for the length of your stay. You most likely won't need to purchase the DDP for him. Unless of course he is a big eater which I doubt given the age. You will find that the meals are quite large and you will have plenty to share with your son. I myself found that there was often enough food for myself and my DD 16 to share but it was not really accepted at most sit downs. Save yourself the $11 a day and buy him a great Birthday present!

If we are staying DVC why would we need a park ticket for him? My husband and I don't have park tickets on our room so why would he?

To get the dining plan for your child you would have to list him as 3 on the room reservation. Children ages 3 and over need to have a ticket to enter the theme parks.

Right but if you get the ticket at the park you they do not know that you are saying your child is three.

We are doing this for our DS 2 as well since he's a BIG eater. Even asked MS about this. They just said to say on the reservation that he is 3 and do not pay for a park tix since he is under two....

But if you are staying as a package...you will not be able to do this because then the tix will be linked to the room.

Hope this helps.
