Dining Plan 2 rooms - sharing credits?

Hi guys, we are landing at Disney during labour day weekend and our first two nights will be at pop century with 2 rooms. My mom and son officially in one room with a Disney package that include park tickets and myself in another room, with an annual pass. After we'll be moving to the cabins for 2 nights and then animal kingdom for 2 nights.

My question is for the first two nights when we have separate rooms. Is it still possible to share credits however you like. Can I buy a Disney deluxe dinning plan for myself and use it to pay for all of us?
Has anybody ever had an experience of not being able to use a table service credit for somebody who is not in their room?

(I would also be buying 2 quick service dining plans for the room with 2 people listed in it)

Last June we stayed at AKL and I found out the hard way that they do not combine rooms even if I paid for them. The simplest thing we did was use all the credits on the other room for all of us first then start on my room. What annoyed me the most was they had no problem combining everyone to get the tip.

Yes, you can pay for whoever you like, even a stranger you meet in the park, with your dining credits.

I think what the PP was referring to is 2 separate rooms and wanting to use soe credits from one room and some credits from his/her room.

In your case, as you are the only one with credits, it will all be taken off your credit balance.

So...where can I meet you for dinner?

You won't have any problem sharing the credits, but you do have to use ALL of them in those 3 days...check in until midnight of check out. You'll have 6 TS and 8 QS. I know you have 3 people, but just be sure you need all of those before purchasing.

This is good news! I didn't want to get stuck in a situation in which I had pay out of pocket and end up with unused credits!

I'm not sure this is100% the case.

For QS and snack credits, the CM's don't care -order as many meals and snacks as you want all at once.

For TS, the CM's - IME- have always been a bit more careful to ask and verify how many dining plans our group had bought. At least once, I'm sure a CM made it clear that if say 9 of 10 people had the DDP, then we could only redeem a maximum of 9 credits at that meal.

Now your group could go eat 2 TS in one day if the want- in that sense you can redeem them however you want.

You also can't mix kid TS credits with adult TS credits. A kid could use an adult TS, but an adult can't pay for a TS using a kid credit. It once happened to us that a server mistakenly charged us an adult credit when a kid had ordered a kid meal, but we didn't realize until we were later short an adult credit.

The hotel fixed it, but it was a bit of a hassle to get the problem fixed.
