Hey guys, We have a weird situation for our trip to the GF in June. Two families are going, and one family does not want the DxDP while the other does. Unfortunately, 2 of the 5 rooms are split (bc one person from each family is in each of those 2 rooms). So we still want two people on the DxDP and two people not, but it isn't working out because both people that want the plan are in 2 different rooms. We called Disney and they told us that it would work out because we could get the plan for one of the two rooms, and one of the people in that room can just swipe for two meals everytime on their card. BUT I remember that the servers at the restaurants check both diners cards to see what plan you have, EVEN IF you put all the meals on one card when the check comes. So, when I show my KTTW it won't have the plan on it, so they won't let my BF put my meals on his card, correct? (Even though a CM said we could) And the other boy in his room WILL have the plan on his card but will never use it. What do you guys know about this???

I'm not clear on what's going on here so I'm going to try to work it out.

You've got a group going that have booked 5 rooms.
Your family is splitting up for the purposes of booking. You have four people in your family. Two want the dining plan but two don't. The two that want it are registered in two DIFFERENT rooms and are registered SEPARATELY from the two who don't want it.

So you want the people in one room to get the dining plan but then one person who is not registered in that room will actually be USING the dining plan. and the second person registered in the dining plan room will NOT actually be using the dining plan.

Meaning the person who IS registered in the dining plan room will have a key card that says 2 adults on the dining plan. That means they can use it to pay for 2 meals. I don't see the problem. Unless the person who is NOT in the dining plan room decides they are going to eat somewhere different than the person who IS in the dining plan room. The restaurants do NOT make everyone present show their KTTW card. Don't know where that came from.

I'm VERY confused...however, you only need to show 1 key per room for the Dining Plan. As long as you're not trying to purchase meals for more than are stipulated on your KTTW card you should be OK.

I believe to give you a more accurate answer I would need to know how many people we're talking about on the plan and not on the plan and the breakdown per room.

I am confused also.

You do not need to show every card. You can use one card but cannot use more credits than are listed on the card.

Can you put the people who want the plan in the same room?

Reading it again it sounds to me like this might a group that is putting boys and girls in separate rooms. The OP and her boyfriend want the dining plan but they're not in the same room. The people they're rooming with don't want the dining plan. So they want to get the DDP for the boys' room and just use that.

Ok I re-read it, why cant u use the other persons card for meals? Your boyfriend can just present his card and use 2 credits. I have done that before.-
