Dining Package Questions

Sorry to be so out of the loop ... but what's the deal with the dining packages that people are talking about?

I have seen references to $35 per person/per day?

Do you have to purchase the dining when you buy your theme park passes? Can anybody get them or just AP holders and Florida residents?

I am not a Florida resident, not an AP holder, have already bought 10 day MYW passes and am staying at DVC.

I don't know all the in's and out's of the dinning plan...but I don't think it is available to AP holders or with a FL resident discount. I'm not sure but I don't think you can get the plan with DVC stays either...but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Anyway...the dinning plan is part of the Make it your way packages they have. You don't have to get it when you get your package....but you do have to state your wanting it and add it to your package at least 10 days before you arrive. It's also tied into lenght of stay.....and everyone in your group has to be on the same packages. For example were going to WDW in a few weeks...and booked our stay for 3 nights at a disney resort..there's four people in our family...Since there are four of us..and were staying 3 nights...we HAVE to get the dinning package for all four people and for each night were staying...so three nights. As for the tickest...we decide how many and what kind....we opted for two basic day passes...no hoppers.

I also don't think you can get the dinning package with special discounts on room rates...that's one reason I don't think DVC members can do the plan. Some people look at both sides and see where they think they'd come ahead....booking on a discount or using points...vs getting the MYW package with dinning.

I'm sure I didn't answer all your questions..but maybe it's a start.
