We booked our vacation back in December of 2005 for ASMo from Nov 3-11, 2006. After a lot of consideration we decided to change to Pop, since my husband is disabled and we were REALLY concerned about the busses filling up while he waited with his ECV, which we are bringing from home. Last night I called to switch to Pop, and was told it was booked solid.

I posted here and people said they were able to reserve Pop rooms at that time through Disney's website, so I called back this morning. Nope, still booked. I double-checked here that people were in fact booking through the main Disney site and not through an outside agency, and yep, it was the main site, even checked the main site myself and I was getting room availability. So I called back AGAIN and explained that I was able to get a confirmed date of availability through the main WDW reservations site, but the CM's were still showing full. The CM I got on the line (I think her name was JoAnne, very very nice) did some checking, and even though her computer showed Pop was full as well when they tried to switch me, it turned out that it was an issue with the dining package code; somehow it was showing as non-transferable to Pop, and the computers were then saying that the resort was booked for my stay. Joanne even said herself that she simply could not believe that Pop would be booked solid for our selected dates and it seemed extremely strange to her, though she did ALSO say that November is starting to get very busy at that time because it is a major vacation time in the Middle East and they are getting more travellers from there . . . maybe our "sweet week" between everything going on won't be so sweet any more! :rotfl2:

But anyway, if you are calling to change your resort and you are told that it is full and you are on the dining package, make sure you have the CM check about the dining package code problem and see if it is overriding availability dates.

Oh, no! I hope that's not so. I'm planning on going next year Nov 1-7 for my birthday. Hoping it's not too crowded then. :earseek:

I use an EVC also and have never has a problem with buses filling up at All Star Music. In fact the one time a bus already had 2 EVC/WC on it .
The bus driver called for another bus and it was there in a matter of minutes.

I always use Disney transportation.
When you go to the bus stop the WC/EVC line is to the left of the regular line since the WC/EVC lift is located at the back door of the bus. Be sure to wait there with your family. The WC/EVC's are loaded first for safety reasons.
The rest of your family will enter through the rear door Then the bus driver will close that door and open the front door so the rest of the guests can board.

Disney started mainstreaming most of their lines in the late 1990's. Those in WC/EVC will usually enter in the regular line. He will be able to stay in EVC until just before boarding most of the time.
Sometimes the WC/EVC may be pulled from the mainstream line part way down so they can board the ride in a more
accessible area. EVC's can't climb steps so sometimes they need to take an elevator. Or they may need to board a ride where the riders usually exit in case
they need an accessible vehicle or need the moving sidewalk slowed or stopped so they can board.

You can pickup a book for Guests with disabilities at Guest Services or you download a copy of the book which is posted on the disABILITIES board.
Have fun at Disney!
Please check out the disABILITIES board there are lots of helpful hints and info on that board.

were you able to change your resort in the end
