Dining options in and around vero beach resort?

You have Wind and Wave on property, this is a really great option, We go to Squid Lips in Sebastian each time we visit, casual, open air seafood restaurant. We also tried Mulligans in Sebastian. It was okay.
A lot of folks venture down to Vero Beach there are many restaurants there. It’s about 20-25 minutes south of the resort. Sebastian is just cross the bridge from the ocean area.

  • Ocean Grill - Decades old, rustic mainstay. Hard to beat.
  • Citrus Grillhouse - Classy but casual, foodie cuisine.
  • 14 Bones BBQ - Casual, Excellent smoked BBQ
  • Mulligans Vero - Casual American/Seafood. Has been decent in past years but was excellent to us this year. (website is down right now)

Thank you

Pre-cruise, we stayed at Vero Beach for 2 nights in June... checked in at 1am, so really just 1 full-day there, so we stayed on property for food. There is a quick service restaurant in the pool area, plus some food at the pool bar. The Green Cabin wasn't open when we were there, but they had a morning pastry/coffee/evening drinks cart in the hallway to Wind and Waves. We went to Wind and Waves for dinner and then breakfast the day we checked out--made Open Table reservations 30 days in advance to make sure we could eat when we wanted and not need to venture off property. We enjoyed our short stay!

Squid Lips. good food, great view. It's actually built over the water.
Mrs. Mac's for breakfast.
Riverside Cafe for dinner. Be sure to go at sunset and ask for the back deck. If you go check the entertainment schedule at the Riverside Theater. When we were there they were having outdoor concerts. We really enjoyed it.

None of these are fancy or high priced.

I hear a lot of good things about CJ Cannons at the Vero airport but haven’t been yet

Cobalt at the Vero Beach Hotel & Resort
Costa D’Este restaurant at the hotel (owned by Gloria D’Estefan). The Paella is delicious. Best item on the menu.
Bobby’s
Michael’s on 7th
The Tides (long considered best restaurant in Vero Beach)
Citrus Grillhouse
Polo Grill
Casey’s (Fast casual))

Would not recommend: Ocean Grille, Mulligans

My parents are snowbirds who stay in Vero Beach (non DVC) for six weeks every winter. This is the list they gave me:

Captain Hiram's
The Tides (advanced reservations recommended)
Polo Grill
Cobalt
Squid Lips
Crab E Bill's (lunch only)
Ocean Grill
The Lemon Tree (breakfast)
Mulligan's (Vero Beach location- not Sebastian)

I'm sure this has been said in other posts about Vero Beach, but the DVC resort is secluded. While there is a public bus system, the closest stop to the resort is over an hour's walk. You'll have to either rent a car or get a Lyft/ride share.

I second @sallysue66 re: the Riverside Theater. Check their website in advance - they also feature weekly stand up comedy, as well as professional quality plays and musicals. Vero also has a professional ballet company that performs stunning black box modern works. If you visit during the holidays, they stage an ocean themed production of the Nutcracker, featuring local students, right on the beach.
