How are the dining options at POR (both counter and sit-down)? I've always wanted to stay there but since the mods are a little more removed from the parks I wondered if it's convenient for meals.

Thanks

POR has a food court for CS, and is very good. Lots of selections. You order your food at the different counters and pay the cashier after you get all your items and select a table.

TS is Boatwrights, and it is ok. Not a signature TS restaurant. Only open for dinner.

The food court is really good! Boatwrights is mostly seafood so we don't go there. But the food court is pretty large and very easy to maneuver with different stations.

We love both the TS and QS there.

Make your own pasta bar for QS is a favorite for the whole family. Mom especially loves the Magic Cookie Bar (which is a snack credit).

Boatwright's is good as well. We have eaten there several times, tried different things, and haven't had anything we didn't like.

POR has Boatwrights for TS. I've never eaten there.

POR has a nice CS area. Their breakfasts are normal but they did have a healthy breakfast wrap that I saw alot of people trying. I really enjoyed their make your own salad and make your pasta meals.
Basically you told the cast members what ingredients you wanted from the choices available.
I also ate the beef and blue cheese sandwich which was good.

There are alot of choices at the POR food court.

You could also walk or drive over to POFQ and eat at their food court. They have beignets (sp?) and I also had a spicy fried chicken there that I enjoyed.

We did breakfast QS one day at the food court. We had a nice omelette. I don't really know how it compared against other breakfast options since that was the only breakfast we had [left over QS on departure day].

They got a nice food court and one TS restaurant for evening which I haven't tried if you stayed there you can get a boat to downtown Disney which has a lot of choice for food

I haven't been to Boatwrights so I won't comment on that but the CS is very good. I agree with the PP the make your own pasta is very good. At breakfast time they have make your own yogurt parfaits which DD loved. The magic cookie bars are awesome. We also didn't find it too crowded and there was always plenty if available tables.

Their counter service is amazing - make your own pasta, make your own salad, so many options - breakfast we had the make your own omlette every day, the kids had pancakes and loved them!

We are going to Boatwrights in a few days. I was a little hesitant about it, but lately I have seen a lot of good reviews. Considering we will be staying right there I thought I would try it out. I just got my All Ears email last night and Boatwrights was the feature TS restaurant! I was surprised by that. Anyway, her review was good. If you want to check it out, it might be on the All Ears web site. Of course you also have a good CS option and the boat to DTD!! Good luck...and have a great trip!

You would also be just a short boat ride away from DTD and all the eating establishments there.

We ate at Boatwrights in February during our stay at POR. It was great....one of the best overall meals of the week!

The food court is ok, very large with lots of selections.

You could always take the boat to DTD and have meals there.

The food court at POR is great and Boatwrights has delightful food. The CS gives you numerous options of chicken fingers, burgers, pizza, pasta, and some really wonderful Beef and turkey dinners, there is also a bakery with many goodies. Boatwrights has steak, pork chop, and other options that are not just seafood. They serve some kicking homemade cornbread. We have never been disappointed in a meal there. You can also take a boat or walk over to the food court at POFQ and also to downtown disney with Wolfgang Pucks and Trex and many other food choices. I think even the pickiest eater will find something they like at POR

Another vote for the FC. We were at POFQ and went up to riverside for a change of pace. Good Selection. I wouldn't worry about not having enough options there

We love the food court! We often opt to go back there for lunch when we're in the parks (when we go back for a pool break in the afternoon). Boatwright's is very good as well.

We enjoyed the variety at the food court when we stayed at Port Orleans. We also really enjoyed a late dinner one night at Boatwright's...it was nice to "stay home" for dinner instead of facing the crowds at the parks.

Everyone has mentioned the great salad and pasta bars. The beef and turkey dinners are a great use of a counter service meal on the dining plan. They have a pizza and pasta section.

We LOVE the bakery! I love the cheesecake with fresh strawberries on top. There is a great breakfast selection and then it switches more desserty things. My DH and kids LOVE the ice cream bar. We could not believe the size of the sundaes they got as a snack credit.

My family actually prefers to eat there instead of the parks because the dessert selections on the dining plan are SOOO much better than the parks and face it....for preteens that's where it's at! :goodvibes

They also have all the basics as PP mentioned. Breakfast selection is very good. They have stacked sandwiches that looked good but I don't remember them. There were 3 different sandwiches. It really is a good food court!

Happy planning!
