I am a bit confused about the dining options at DLRP.

I have looked on the Disney site as I am considering going at the end of July for 4 nights at a Disney resort and 1 night in Paris itself. I am interested in Sequoia Lodge.

I am at the very early planning stages of this trip so haven't researched too much. However whenever we have gone to WDW we have always booked the dining plan. I know DLRP doesn't have the same sort of plan but they offer half board and full board which I am assuming means the food is paid for? The website doesn't make it clear and states that you get up to 15% off of food around the disney restaurants???? Does that mean it isn't a meal plan? I am looking for the equivalent of one table service per day? Breakfast is included in all the resorts but ideally I like to sit down to one meal per day (dinner).

Can someone let me know what meal plan I would look to purchase? There seems to be half board, standard, plus and premium?? Does anyone think this is a waste of money? I have a two year old so we would be eating in the parks or resorts as we are not taking a car.

Thanks

i don't find the dining plans to good value. half board will get you one table service/buffet meal a day, full board one counter service and one table service/buffet.

i think you could eat cheaper than what the meal plans cost, especially if you wouldn't eat a three course meal ever day. as your little one is under three you wont get a meal plan for him/her and what is offered is hit and miss. he will be free at buffets, at table service i have seen plates of chips/pasta a smaller version of a kids meal but to be honest all i ever got free for my dd was a drink. i think it depends on the cm.

have you had a look at the menus online? that can give you an idea of the prices and what sort of food is offered.

I wouldn't bother myself with half board. The only plus it gives is - your meals are prepaid. But you are restricted to the listed restaurants. You can use vouchers as face value in other restaurants, but there's no point.
As advised before, take a look at the menus, decide where you'd like to eat and make a budget. Half board doesn't save money. Just put aside the amount of cash you plan to spend or equal to half board. You'd have more choices then, you could eat in any restaurant you want and no restrictions in the menu.
