. . . is the topic discussed on today's edition of the Dreams Unlimited Travel Podcast! Tune in and watch as the panel talk about the dining options around this gorgeous property.
I've been highly enjoying these segments - it really takes me back to being there. I actually had such a fantastic time at Aulani, I can't believe from where I grew up to where I am now the things that I can do.
Ama Ama - the scenery was beautiful, it was amazing at sunset I ensured I got a table at that time.
So I now watched the video twice, and maybe it's me, however I don't see anything at Aulani as a MUST EAT AT in terms of food quality. I need to try the breakfast as it looks to DIE for - my god.
Monkey Pod across the street, which looks like the next video - was to me an absolute highlight, and a must do. The quality of the food, ambiance, and staff made my time at Monkey Pod amazing.
Our waiter at Monkey Pod I believe was a fan of the gentleman as he gave us this cake for free - and said it's on me for you two with a wink...![]()

The point is to GO ACROSS THE STREET - it was amazing - and I have to try breakfast next time - also I gotta book with Dreams to get my free mug![]()
We've got Ama Ama dinner on our list but now I think we may need to try breakfast. Also planning on Monkeypod at least once and I'm sure we'll do Pizza Corner when we're feeling like we don't want to go out and do much.
We are going to be spending 3 days at DLR afterwards and I've planned for 1 character breakfast. So, skip Makahiki character breakfast in Aulani for the breakfast at DLR, or skip a breakfast at DLR for Makahiki??
Suggest not visiting Monkey Pod on the evening you arrive. Especially if flying from the east coast. By the time you get to Aulani your body will think its well past bedtime but you'll be hungry. Facing a fairly noisy restaurant that night isn't a good thing. If you must go on your arrival day, try to be seated upstairs.Simply my opinion, and money pod is NOT to be missed.
The characters are all easily accessible throughout the day - I would do the breakfast in DLR. Simply my opinion, and money pod is NOT to be missed.
It really was the owner that made the experience for us. Pizza was good, better than that at Aulani and the garlic knots were unbelievable. The owner though is the real treat of this place. Such a friendly guy and treated every customer like they were long time friends. We also really enjoyed Pizza Corner. The owner was so friendly and sympathetic to our daughter who was sick that night - gave us lots of remedies to try.
I loved that about our visit to Maui many, many years ago. The native Hawaiian people were all so sweet to us everywhere we went. It was like they'd known us for years! I can't wait to visit Aulani someday. It really was the owner that made the experience for us. Pizza was good, better than that at Aulani and the garlic knots were unbelievable. The owner though is the real treat of this place. Such a friendly guy and treated every customer like they were long time friends.
