What do you think, do I need the dining option if I have Poly concierge? :upsidedow

I have Poly Concierge and the dining option just for the fact is we can have a nice sit down meal if we want and not have to depend on the concierge food bar. I would like to have a salad and some healthy food and I don't know if the concierge bar will have that. So mainly I am using the concierge food bar for breakfast and snacks for my family.

We did Poly concierge last June. It was wonderful. great building, views, staff, food was good and plentiful but you will always need a real meal at some point. Personally I won't be staying Poly concierge again. I would opt for a lagoon view room and the dining plan. The expense is just sooooo high for us. Don't get me wrong, it was wonderful but we just won't do it again. We may try AKL and WL concierge... just to see... But really, a nice room with the dinning plan would be fine.

Concierge lounge offerings are NOT meals! Yes, breakfast is a meal, but there is no "lunch" unles you consider a handful or Goldfish and gummy worms to be lunch. Dinner is cheese and crackers and appetizers, it is NOT a full meal.

Concierge should NEVER be looked at as a meal plan, rather an upgraded level of service and amenities. Unless you're willing to pay for the latter, book a meal plan.

Wow ducklite, you haven't changed a bit from the last time I was planning a trip. I wasn't planning on using the concierge as our sole supply of meals, all I was trying to ask was do people think that it is overkill. I mean breakfast & some snacks will more then hold me over til dinner time.

We got an amazing rate through AAA for the concierge, same price as a regular room that WDTC quoted us, & we are only going to be there 2 nights, so we thought we would live a little.

So until you understand a posters full view on something, keep you CAPS to yourself.

Perhaps a little more information when asking for advice would get you the answer you were looking for then. Based on your post I answered the question you asked.

If you don't want my advice, put me on ignore.

I also appreciate the question that was asked. From what I have been reading lately, I thought the concierge benefit were like a meal of appetizers.

Thanks for your post csmommy!

If you did the dining option, you could eat breakfast in the lounge and do a character breakfast around 10:30. I would combine the 2 sit down options and go to a signature restaurant. I think it sounds like a good idea.

The lounge serves appetizers which are meant to tide you over until dinner. It would be enough for me but my husband needs a bit more.

We're just back from AKL concierge and I would say if money is an issue, you wouldn't need the meal plan with the concierge. Your breakfast is provided, you can get snacks in the lounge, the appetizers are hot and plentiful. Of course we ate many meals in some nice restaurants, but if we'd had had both services, I think we wouldn't have gotten our money's worth from one or the other. We were a large group though, so with only 2, the meal plan woldn't be that much more, and you could probably spend more than what the plan cost. For us, it wouldn't have made sense.

In our lounge, we did have a salad sometimes, as well as grilled shrimp and other meats, cheeses, grains, juices and such. It could certainly have been a meal of some sort.

OP, we're also staying Poly. concierge. For a short stay like yours, and without kids, it might be really cool to have the meal plan with concierge, particularly if you aren't going back to the hotel midday anyway. In fact, if it were just hubby and I, think we'd go for it.

But we're there for 7 days and it's 4 of us -- including 2 children -- so both the cost and logistics of the plan aren't worth it for us. Gummy bears and goldfish crackers and PB&J sound pretty good to at least 2 of us. We also made 2 sitdown dinner PSs.:flower1:
