Tusker House: Great salads and vegetarian stuff. If the weather permits, grab an outside table in the garden. Good value. Going back next month.
50s Prime Time: Best theme, really fun. Good food. My husband loved the fried chicken.
LeCellier: We loved it. We had an excellent meal and service. Going back next month.
Garden Grill:We enjoyed the character dinner, and plenty to eat. The rotation is not too fast and it adds interest. Also, not too noisy, even tho it's a character meal.
Spoodles: I don't hear too many people mention Spoodles, but we liked it so much that we put it at the top of our list for next month. We had a garlic flatbread appetizer and Margaritas that were out of this world. Open kitchen and casual, and reminded me of a restaurant we loved in Napa. Very good and reasonable.

I hope you enjoy all your meals!

I've only been to three of your first-time restaurants, which are the ones I figure you really need feedback on. I can strongly(!!) recommend both California Grill and Citricos - IMO, they are two of the 4 or 5 best restaurants on property, with outstanding food, service and ambiance. (The only caveat is that CG is pretty loud - not the place for a quiet romantic dinner if that's in your plans.) I was not, however, very impressed with the Contemporary Steakhouse - service was decent, but the food was just acceptable and nothing more. If you're looking for alternatives within the same area, you might sub in lunch at Kona Cafe, and do Narcoosee's (or Victoria & Alberts if you can swing it) on Kona dinner night. Just my two cents worth, as always YMMV....

On another note, I am JEALOUS of your extended trip and all the fabulous eating you'll get to do!!! :teeth:

50's Primetime : DH and I have eaten lunch at 50's twice and enjoyed it both times. The food is pretty good...save room for the S'mores!! It's a fun meal! DH was caught w/ his elbows on the table and had to get up and sing "I'm a Little Teapot" w/ our Aunt. :)

Le Cellier : We at Dinner here last year w/ the CP package. We LOVED it! We learned so much during the meal...the CM that served us was great! And the Cheese Soup really is as wonderful as everyone says it is.

GF Cafe : We ate lunch here for the first time last month. We enjoyed it. We both had sandwhiches which were really good (expensive, but good). We honeymooned at the GF in 2000 so it we love visiting the GF because it brings back such great memories.

Spoodles : We had dinner at Spoodles last month. DH LOVED his filet mignon. I had the special, which was fish. It was okay, but nothing special. We'd definately go back to Spoodles b/c DH loved it so much and I would like to give it another try. We also ate at Spoodles for breakfast one day and LOVED it!! They have an all-you-can-eat dish called the Mediterranian Platter...it's pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, french toast, bread pudding and veggie rolls all for $10.99!!

Cindy's : We've had lunch at Cindy's twice (2000 and last month). I LOVE Cindy's. The atmosphere is wonderful and it's a nice, quiet, relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of MK. The food has always been great! Last month we had THE BEST dessert at Cindy's...I forget the name, but it was some sort of apple bread pudding w/ ice cream on top. YUM!

Beaches and Cream : We've had lunch here twice. We usually go to Beaches and Cream when we're craving a hamburger. Their burgers are pretty good. Last month was the first time we actually tried their ice cream. DH had a shake and I had the No Way Jose...we could barely eat it! LOL! Both were really good...but we were so stuffed from the burgers!

1900 Park Fare : We ate here in 2000 for the Villains Dinner. We enjoyed it, but we aren't big buffet fans (other than Boma). We prefer breakfast buffets.

California Grill : DH and I started our Honeymoon w/ dinner here. :) We really enjoyed it!! The food, atmosphere, and service were all perfect! We both had the pork tendorloin...wonderful! After our dinner, we walked out onto the observation deck to watch the fireworks...it was so magical. We've been dying to go back...but there's so many other places we want to try.

Ohana : My new favorite restaurant! After hearing so many great reviews of Ohanas, we decided to try it on our trip last month. It was GREAT!! SO great that we're going again when we go to WDW in May. The food is soooo good!! My favorites was the wontons and the shrimp!

Chef Mickey's : We've eaten breakfast at Chef Mickey's twice and enjoyed it both times. We always did a late breakfast (around 10:30) and the food was always fresh and hot. The characters were always great....posing for pictures w/ us. It's a fun meal!

My only question is, "What diet program are you going to be on when you get back home." I wouldn't be able to fit in the plane seat back home with a meal schedule like that !

Rose & Crown - good dinner - the roast beef w/Yorkshire pudding is excellent. They have a cute kid's dinner, with some fun stuff for dessert.

Tusker House - I *have* eaten here, but it's been a couple years, so I should probably skip this one. I *do* remember that I enjoyed the food though ..

Kona Cafe - Haven't had dinner here, but I generally have lunch here on every trip - love it! The beef salad is outstanding, and their desserts are outrageously good! If you've got a sweet tooth, *this* is the place to satisfy it!

Hollywood & Vine - I've had breakfast and dinner here, and much preferred the breakfast. The dinner was just so so in my opinion..

50's Prime Time Cafe - I've found the food to be consistently good here. The portions are very generous, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun!

Liberty Tree Tavern - I love this place for lunch!! It's a cool 'oasis' in the midst of the park. The food is very good, not standard park fare.

1900 Park Fare - I was a bit disappointed in my dinner here in July. In the past, I've always thought it was really good, but the quality of the food seemed to have slipped a bit that time..

Le Cellier - Another great lunch spot. And again, they have a salad with steak in it that is very good. That, the cheese soup and the breadsticks makes a terrific lunch!

Cape May Cafe - I'll apologize in advance to the fans of this place... LOL but I hated this place at dinner. I thought the seafood was tasteless, barely edible, poorly presented and just plain yuck!

Grand Floridian Cafe - a favorite of mine for lunch... great sandwiches and a very pretty place too!

Garden Grill -- I haven't eaten dinner here..

Columbia Harbor House - Love just about everything here. The clam chowder in a bread bowl, or the chili, the fish, chicken strips .. all good!!

Citricos - A WONDERFUL place for dinner! It's gorgeous, sleek, incredible food, terrific service .. really, an all around winner. One of my favorites.

Yacht Club Galley - haven't eaten here..

Spoodles - Yummy! Choose several appetizers and some wine and you're set! LOL And a stroll out on the boardwalk after dinner makes it even more worthwhile.

Cindy's - Snag a seat by the window and enjoy! I like this place too - there are no characters at lunch or dinner, just so you know.

Plaza Restaurant - They have a great chicken and strawberry salad, and some good soups too. If you've got room after dinner, the desserts are great too!

Beaches and Cream -- I *still* haven't eaten here ..

California Grill - My absolute favorite anywhere! The flatbreads to the souffles are winners, as is the view, the service, the atmosphere .. all of it!

Concourse Steakhouse - I've had ups and downs with this place..
I think it was better in days past, though I wouldn't say it's horrible now .. just could be better..

'Ohana - Fun place! Especially good for kids/families. The food's alright - certain parts of the meal are better than others..

Chef Mickey's - Honestly? Most of the breakfast buffets are pretty much the same, and CM's is no different..

Previous poster liked the Roast Beef (aka Prime Rib) with Yorkshire Pudding. This poster has to tell you it was probably the worst Prime Rib I have ever been served - it was tough, chewy, and drowned (not like tastefully done) in garlic.

Lunch Hollywood & Vine (1st time)
This is by far our favorite character meal! The buffet selections are very good, served temperature appropriate and there is a nicely varied selection. The service was wonderful. As for the characters, we had the best character interaction here of any of the character meals we have been to. Highly recommended!

Lunch Tusker House
we did this with the value coupons we purchased at AK. The value coupons are the way to go, and really can save you money if you take advantage of them. As for the food, it is delicious. DH had the routisserie chicken that came with homemade mashed potatos and green beans. I had the chicken salad with balsalmic vinegrette. Both were extremely delicious. They serve macoroni and cheese for the kids, and it too was good! The indoor seating is comfortable, especially on a hot day!

Dinner 50's Primetime Café -
We had a blast eating here. Try to request Amanda if you like a lot of server interaction, she is a hoot. If you want a quieter time, request Cindy. Service wise both are extremely good... Amanda just "picks" more. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the pot roast, and it melted in my mouth. It came with fresh mashed potatos and green beans (make sure to eat all of those veggies;)). DH had the meatloaf, which he said was wonderful. DD had the Mickey shaped pasta with spaghetti sauce. For dessert we had the s'mores (thought I had died and gone to dessert heaven!) It took me a long time to try this restaurant because we had hated the interaction at Whispering Canyon so much, but this was much more fun, and the servers were great!

Lunch Le Cellier
Well, if lunch is anything like dinner, you will have a great experience. We loved the Cheddar Cheese soup and pretzel bread sticks! We went for dinner, so we had dinner entrees, but the lunch entrees look wonderful, as well! Our server was Elaine, and she was very good, and lots of fun!

Dinner Cape May Café (1st time)
This is our "never miss" meal! We adore eating all that we want of the steamed clams (small, but very tender), and mussells! The BBQ brisket, chicken and pasta are also very tasty! The salad bar is huge, and includes small peel and eat shrimp... and don't forget to save room for that awesome dessert bar. We found the service here to be very good. We never had to wait for them to provide us with new buckets for our shells, or to clear the table!

Dinner Garden Grill
This was a pretty quiet character meal. We were seated on the lower tier of the restaurant where you can see the Living With the Land ride. The restaurant slowly rotates while you eat, and it seemed to make on revolution by the time we completed our meal. The food was good. We especially enjoyed the flank steak, catfish and mashed potatos! DD liked eating from the adult menu better than the kids menu here. Service was pretty good, and the characters came around at least once, posing for pics and signing autographs.

Dinner O'Hana's
This was a very enjoyable meal! We ate there prior to the MVMCP, and have PS for prior to the MNSSHP this year. The food was delicious, and plentiful. The tropical drinks were wonderful. Service could have been a bit faster, but it seemed as though each server had many tables. We were seated by the window and enjoyed watching the MK fireworks while we ate. DD really liked participating in the hula hoop contest and the coconut races.

Sounds like you have chosen some really nice restaurants. Enjoy!

Thanks for all of your thoughts. This really helps on the restaurants I have not had the chance to dine at. I chose lunch at the Concourse to have kinda a quiet meal (Chef Mickey's is at breakfast & dinner), but am not sure, since I'm not hearing the most positive reviews of this place. Is dinner better than lunch? I've dined at the Yachtsman last year and it was fabulous. Should I dine here instead of the Concourse?

Is there anywhere else you would recommend for meals?

Is the new dinner package worth the $$ at MGM? Is the special seating way over to the right of Fantasmic?

Rose & Crown: We had an excellent evening here. The outdoor viewing of Illuminations was wonderful. We had to wait quite awhile for the outdoor seating, even though we had PS, but it was worth the wait. I had the Pie Sample, which was excellent. My DH had the Prime Rib, and he said it was very good too. The salads are extra, but they were good.

50' Prime Time: We had lunch here a couple of years ago. I had the meatloaf and DH had the pot roast. Both meals were very good. Our server didn't interact with us, and but we did nothing to egg him on either.

Columbia Harbor House: This is our favorite lunch spot at the MK. I love their tuna sandwiches. There is lots of seating, and the upstairs is very peaceful.

Plaza Restaurant: I had lunch here way back in 1994. I can't remember what I ate, but it was a pleasant experience.

O'Hana: We really enjoyed our dinner at O'Hana. You will not leave hungry. The appetizers were great. Unfortunately, they no longer serve the lo mein noodles. They were very tasty. If you time it right, you can view the MK fireworks from the window.

I think the Concourse has gone down hill a bit for lunch *and* dinner ... but if you really want to dine here, I guess I'd say go for lunch -- at least it's a bit less expensive. As for going to Yachtsmans instead? I REALLY disliked that place! LOL so I'd say no - stick with Concourse b/c at least it's less expensive.

About the Fantasmic package - I say it *is* worth it. Yes, technically, the seating *is* to the far right .. but where you're seated also depends on at what point you actually arrive. When we did this in July, we lucked out, and got to sit all the way to the left of the far right section (are you following this? LOL ;) ) and the seats were terrific!
