Dining On Parade Route? And where IS the parade route? (newbie)

When we go in mid may, there is a parade at 7pm, and we usually eat at 6pm as our son gets too hungry to wait until after 7pm. Is there a cafe or restaurant that you can sit at and also see the parade go by? As a newbie I have no idea where the 'parade route' even is.

The parade usually travels from DLRR Main St station to IASW. The only restaurants on the path are Carnation Cafe or Plaza Inn. There will be people on the sidewalks between the restaurants and the parade route so I'm not sure how much you can actually see. Between those two places, I'd think Plaza Inn would have a better chance at a view. CC is very small and only a few tables in front.
