Dining on a MNSSHP night and NOT doing the Party

Our last day at the world just happens to be a MNSSHP night. We have done the party in the past but will have a 20 month old and she cannot stay out until midnight, so no party for us.

This year we would like to finish off our last night at Crystal Palace so our youngest daughter can enjoy her Dear Pooh.

I just checked and the on-line ADR system will allow me to book a reservation for 6:55 PM that night. So, my question is, when the meal is over we leave the park and head back to our hotel and packing, will a CM escourt us out of the park? I am sure that Main Street will be insane crowded and would like to know we can "get out of Dodge" easily?

Has anyone else done this? How did it go?

Hello,

I am hoping that someone on the boards has done this and can give me the "skinny."

Thanks

We had dinner reservations at Crystal Palace last year at 5:45 pm. I think we got seated around that time, maybe a few minutes later. MNSSHP started at 7 pm. When we finished, it was like 7:15 and we were not escorted out of CP, as I had read it would happen. There were still throngs of people leaving MK at that time. However, if they have managed to clear most non-party guests by the time you finish (since it will likely be after 8 pm), there is always the possibility you would get escorted.

you might get away with watching the parade/fireworks kind of thing after your meal but you'd likely get pulled aside if you tried to go through a trick or treat station and they check for your armband if you're getting on a ride.

Last year we at a CRT at 6:45 and MNNSHP started at 7. After dinner one of the CM took us to the front of MK. She left us with enough space to see the parade (dd was wearing her custome as she went to BBB that day so we could have got away with it) but, DH was a bit nervous so we left.

Wow, I think I might have said something the wrong way. We are NOT trying to get away with anything. We have done MNSSHP in the past and would happily pay again if we were going to do the events.

I just remember that Main Street was REALLY crowded for MNSSHP and they did not let anyone in the street for a LONG Time before the parade. We had a spot and it was Jam Packed around us.

We WANT to leave after dinner, and I was Hoping that we would be escourted out:rotfl2:. Trying to "swim upstream" is always a hassle and I thought it would be so much easier if a CM were the one getting people to move so the stroller could get through. If it were just us on foot I wouldn't worry as much, but trying to get a stroller though those kinds of stationary crowds is very difficult.

I AM NOT trying to "sneak" any of the MNSSHP attractions, events, or parades. It is just that if you are a guest and ask people to move aside, they often, undertsandably, think you are trying to infringe on their space, or that you are trying to horn in on their location. If a CM asks them to move aside for a moment, it just gets better response, that is all.

I love the Dis, but written communication lacks all those cues of intenet and attitude that come from hand gestures, voice inflection, body language, and such.

Is it possible to do Crystal Palace for an earlier dinner or even for lunch? That way, you'll be exiting the park before the party crowd is there.

OP, how do you KNOW it's a MNSSHP night? I have been checking and haven't seen any dates as of yet?:confused3 We'll be there Oct 11-16th and we're wondering the same thing. I'm booking ADR's in the next few weeks, so hoping they post something SOON! :thumbsup2

If you're not escorted, try cutting through the shops. Sometimes it's easier.

I "know" it is a MNSSHP because it is a Friday night in September that has MK closing at 7 PM and it is not a Night of Joy evening.

I would love to have lunch at Crystal Palace, but my husband is emphatic that we lunch at Liberty Tree (his all time favorite) and I cannot imagine eating that heavy of a lunch and turning around for dinner in just four hours. So, we are looking at the latest seating for Crystal Palace.

I am willing to wind through the shops, but at some point the shops end and we will have to get out of the parks across a sea of people. It will not be impossible, I was just hoping that people would post and say, Oh, yes a CM will guide you right out of the park. I never thought I would be hoping to be escourted out of the Magic Kingdom.

I hope that my memories of the crowds are not indicative of what we will face that night. The last time I was there for MNSSHP was one of the nights they had sold out the event and it was hotter than the surface of the sun (even after the sun went down), and the costume was hot and a bit scratchy and all of that may have colored my memory of just how log jammed the people were in the park.

I guess I replied earlier today because some had the mistaken idea I was fishing for a way to enjoy a $50+ dollar a person event for free, and that is the opposite of what I was actually hoping for.:rotfl2:

We have teens, and the last thing I ever want to do is have them watch me breaking the rules, lying, and trying to "play the angels." That is exactly the sort of action that gets them in the MOST trouble around our house, and I think the only hope I have of staying relevant to them in the late teen years is to Walk the Walk and not just Talk the Talk.

Even if they don't always agree with me, my deepest hope is that they always respect me.

Personally I think people were not reading your post carefully. I understood perfectly what you were saying/getting at in your first post!

Wouldn't work... on party nights, unless you have a wristband, you will not be allowed to enter a shop. This is because they sell merchandise that is only to be sold at those times and it helps keep those who have not paid to attend from buying something.

Will she fall asleep in the stroller? You don't have to pay for her ticket so why not attend the party?

We have done MNSSHP/MVMCP/P&P with DS as a baby/toddler, whenever he fell asleep we just kept on going :)

Nope you didn't say anything the wrong way, I got it completely right. The person just read it the wrong way. I think so many people (not you) do try and get away with staying that people are programmed to think this. The irony is that because you are actually trying to get out, you probably won't be bothered or checked by CM. lol

She does NOT sleep in her stroller. She is a very light sleeper, just like her momma and so taking her to MNSSHP would result in a very cranky toddler who didn't get enough sleep the night before our flight home.:scared1:

I agree with the previous poster Mhsjax that we will likely be ignored because we want to be assisted out of the park. Irony is our friend.:lmao:

Well, this thread has at least let me know that they may or may not actually escourt us out of the park, and we may not even be able to use the back of the shops trick. I need to sit down and talk to my husband and see if he can be encouraged to reconsider his sweet stubborness about where we eat lunch that last day.

As always, you guys are great.

i dont think you will have a problem getting out, enjoy crystal palace and then head out. there may be cm directing traffic out, but i dont think you'll get a personal escort.

We had late ressies this past December on a MVMCP night. We WERE escorted to the gates when finished. They escorted 3 families out together when we were there. The party was a sold out night too

RMulieri,

Thank You that was JUST what I was hoping to hear. Maybe if I just do what my teens do and only listen to answers saying what I want to hear and ignore answers I don't like it will all just work out fine.:rotfl2:

Seriously, thank you for the heads up.

I bet if you ASK for help, and there's a CM available, they'll help you!

I really don't think you will have any problem leaving MK after CP. Even though there might be a crowd of people milling about Main Street, it still is a short walk from CP to the EXIT to warrant someone "blazing the trail" for you.:rotfl: Just stay to the side of the street that CP is on and you'll find yourself out of the park before you know it.
