We will have our first stay at BWV soon and wondering about some off-site dining options close by. We go to Disney often and so we are familiar with the resorts and parks. Brunch would be at the top of the list and a nice bakery. The Boardwalk Bakery will be closed during our stay.

We will also be at SSR for 4 nights and going to an event at the Bob Carr Center. In downtown Orlando I was looking at the Ravenous Pig. Any thoughts?

thanks!

If there are two or more outposts of a chain restaurant anywhere in the US, you can bet one of them is within five minutes of WDW's borders. That tends to choke off local places that might also otherwise thrive. So, you won't find a local bakery like I have here in my little college town, but you will find a half-dozen Panera Breads in any location.

I've heard awesome things about Ravenous Pig, though.

You wouldn't be talking about Zingermann's would you Brian...

Last month had dinner at Amicia and food was very very good with reasonable prices.

Last year met my brother at Ciao Italian and food was fantastic, also reasonable prices.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Maybe I will be adding a review of the Ravenous Pig to my trip report. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I assume you mean Amici near Kobe just behind Crossroads, if so, I've eaten there twice and it was great. It's also been on restaurant.com for some time AND they'll let you use that on the early bird.

You're very welcome. We enjoyed this place very much. We thought the food was great, the early bird's a very good deal and the staff very accommodating. As I noted, we were able to use the restaurant.com coupon toward the early bird but by doing so we had to order a 3rd meal to hit the $35 requirement so I got a to go meal for my son who was meeting us later. If you go that coupon route, check online (or sign up for their emails) for further discounts before buying the coupons.

I need to check online for specials. Thanks for the reminder.

At 10:30 today the Cooking Channel has a new special. Emeril's Florida which today is about "dining and entertainment in Orlando." The series will include locations throughout Florida. Setting the DVR.
