I was looking at a map and noticed several restaurants near the entrance plaze. Ones like Denny's, IHOP and McDonald's I'm familiar with.

I was wondering about which other places we might try (or avoid): Millie's, Mimi's, Mom's, Ton Roma's?

Any others I missed?

Also, is there an "In-N-Out" Burger anywhere in the immediate area. We ate there last year in San Diego and loved it! We need a place like that here!!!

Thanks!

I've always loved Mimi's Cafe. They serve a little bit of everything. Don't know whether this helps or not but that's my 2c for the day.

In 1998, we ate at Millie's and loved it. Kids were free at the time, which was a big plus. Also, we were able to order "to go" after an evening parade. While it was mobbed, our order was up in 10 minutes and we just took it back to the hotel to eat.

We ate at Mimi's on our trip in 2004 the food was good and seemed to be reasonably priced. We stayed at the Howard Johnson so it was also very convenient. We even ordered take out one night and took it back to our hotel room.

We also got McDonald's one night and took it into Calfornia Adventure and ate while we waited for the parade. This was cheaper than buying food in the park.

Mimi's is fine. We have one here, close to home so it is not that special to me. Millie's has been good the times I have eaten there. Denny's is always real busy and I have heard the IHOP charges a lot more than the usual IHOP does.

I was just reminded that we went to a Mimi's while we were in San Diego and everyone loved it. Once I recalled it, I remember being stuffed when I left.

I also found out that a In-N-Out Burger is just about 2 miles down the road on Harbor Blvd? In the 1100 block... that would be a heck of a hike... might have to take a taxi or get my brother to come up from San Diego to take us to dinner. :rotfl2:

BTW, thanks everyone!

I can NOT give enough props to the IHOP right across from the park. They are a little pricier then the one we frequent in Arizona... but the portions are large and they are highly tasty ^_^

I always recomend having a small snack in the morning (piece of fruit?) And grabbing a late Brunch at IHOP around 11 or 11:30... keeps you satified until late in the evening, leaving you ready for a nice dinner... maybe a character dinner?

But, this is what works for us ^_^

We always enjoy eating at Tony Roma's. Usually we are a party of 8 or 10, but never have had a long wait and the service has always been fine. Food over the years has remained consistently tasty!

Always a nice break to walk across the street and get away from the crowds for a while.

Another nod ::yes:: to Mimi's. I dine at the one her a couple of times a month. Definately a way better choice than Denneys, IMHO.

Mimi's - huge portions, great food, great service. By comparison ihop and Millis were just fast food joints. Edible, but nothing special.

I agree about Tony Roma's...We went right across the street, and didn't have to wait long at all! Food was good! We will probably go again in a month!! :cool1:

I second the vote for the IHOP. It is a little pricer than other IHOPs I've visited, but the service is friendly and they get your food out fast. Plus, that IHOP is the largest one I've ever seen!

IHOP was great... huge portions... great service and good food. Mc D's was good too.. long wait but good.

Mom's changed names to captain kidds. DO NOT EAT THERE. the food is awful, i have never heard anyway say anything good about it. When the name changed i thought it had a new owner, nope. they just changed the name cause they had such a bad reputation no one would eat there. It is directly across harbor, so i'm sure they get a lot of buisness, but if you eat there once you will never go back.

IMHO -- I wouldn't go to IHOP at DL -- esp. if you love the ones in FL off of the main strips.

Our group of 5 ate there in May of '02 - Overpriced (I think bill was $ 76 - for breakfast), food portions were okay, sevice slow & the food was cold! The next couple of days we went down to Denny's - better service, food & cheaper.

Will try Mimi's on this trip - since we are staying at HoJos.

We made the mistake of eating there last year. NEVER again!!! It was horrible, gross and dirty. The buffet were not clean either and we personally saw a patron picking up something with her fingers, licking them and then using them again to pick something up. We are not fancy people but this is not OK.

We love Mimi's, Tony Romas, Denny's, IHOP and even McDonalds for a change from in aprk food. We also love Rainforest Cafe'.
