Hi,

My DH and I are planning on going to Minneapolis, MN in April for the weekend and would like some suggestions on where to eat (lunch and dinner). We have only been around the Mall of America area and would like to venture out around the city. We are not picky eaters.

Thanks!

There are a million places to go, what type of place would you like? You could go to Murry's Steak House in Minneapolis and drop $150 for the two of you. We just ate at a place called Copper Bleu in Lakeville (south of MOA). It is an interesting place. Most of the nicer hotels in Minneapolis have nice restaurants.

Here is a good website for places to eat:

http://www.citypages.com/bestof2000/restaurants/summary.asp

They have the best of different categories listed like the best place to eat when some one else is paying, the best place for romance, etc.

Here are a few more ideas....

Heard lots of good stuff about here:

And for something very unique to visit with MANY food and shopping choices... if you feel adventurous to explore Mpls and see where the locals hang out... Try Midtown Market.. It's so much fun!!

And some funny little articles on Mpls in general...

In downtown there's the Old Spaghetti Factory...kind of fun and quaint, but not what you'd call upscale.

I love Khan's Mongolian Barbecue...pick your fresh vegies and meats and they cook it for you fresh. There's on in Roseville and Bloomington, I believe, both suburbs of the Twin Cities.

Ichiban's in Minneapolis, near the Convention Center is kind of like Teppanyaki at Epcot from what I understand, where they cook right in front of you. We've been to Ichiban's, but not the Teppanyaki.

Steak & Ale is kind of themed like an old English Inn...good food, great salad bar. Their bread is yum! Located in Bloomington, down the highway from MOA.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head...there are some other places, like Stillwater, that have some cool restaurants, but I'm not sure how far you want to drive.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Has anyone been to Chino Latino (saw it featured on a Rachel Ray show)?

We just ate at Chino Latino this evening! It's a little on the loud side, but we love the food. If you like fish, try the pescado ahumado appetizer (grilled lime marinated swordfish, served with salsa, guac and pico de gallo). They also have some very unusual sushi. I'd recommend a reservation for any prime/weekend times.
