DIning in MGM?

Well, I never eat at any counter-service restaurants because in the past they never really impressed me. We went to the ABC Commissary, there was really nothing special there.

But, the Toy Story Pizza Planet sounds and looks pretty good. WE will probably get a quick pizza for a snack on our next trip.

We went to the ABC Commisary and we had the worse meals to date on WDW property there. The food was either very sloppy or very greasy we will never go back.

I really like the Backlot Express which serves cheeseburgers, hotdogs, salads etc. Toy Story Pizza Planet tends to get good recommendations too.

We like Pizza Planet for the pizza/salad combo. It's nice to sit outside & watch the people go by while eating. On previous trips we would get baked potatos at the turkey leg place, but they no longer had them when we were there last month. For now its either the pizza or popcorn.

but I have never had a bad meal at the ABC Commisary. I have eaten there 4 or 5 times. I did H&V for breakfast twice and it was ok, but they have either closed it totally or are only doing dinner.

I am looking froward to dinner at the Brown Derby in AUgust, most of the reviews here have been pretty good.

Hi Sam!!!! How was the cruise???

IMHO, MGM Studios is the worst WDW park as far as food is concerned, including the counter service! But, you gotta eat something while you're there and we usually go to the ABC Commissary. Gotta love the air conditioning! :) Otherwise, if it isn't too hot, we'll go to Sunset Ranch Market or one of the other outdoor places near Tower of Terror.

MGM desperately needs a few good counter service restaurants IMO. I've never really cared for any of them so I try to plan a sit-down meal or leave the park around that time. We like to hop on the boat and head over to the Epcot resorts for lunch.

I agree with Sam, we've stopped at the Backlot Express for drinks and / or a bite to eat several times, OK for counter service. Never eaten at the Commisary.

ugh -- we really didn't like abc commisary. everything was swimming in oil.

i do really like backlot express, though. they have tuna salad on a croissant there that is pretty good when you are sick of burgers all the time. :)
