Dining in MGM

I was just wondering what would be your best suggestion for TS in MGM, I have booked Sci Fi...but I think we may just go there for milkshakes and onion rings. I only want to use 1 TS credit per person, and if there are any resort restaurants close by I wouldn't mind traveling, we will have a rental car so it should not be to big of a problem.....by the way how is it traveling to other resorts to eat? Is it a big hassel, or very time consuming?

My DH and I are not huge fans of the table service in MGM. We ate at Mama Melrose our last trip and it was OK, nothing special. If I were you I would book something over in the boardwalk area; from what I understand you can take a boat from Mgm to the boardwalk which has some good restaurants, or to Epcot which of course has a ton of great dining options. Thanks for the info about the boat......I don't think I like any of the options in MGM.....and the boat would be nice travel option!!
