Dining in January - ADR's

I have been reading a lot of horror stories lately about people not getting the ADR's that they wanted. Is this just because it is starting to get into the busy/peak summer season?

For those of you who have been in January and booked ADR's, was it difficult to get the restaurants and dates you wanted? I've never done the dining plan but I am thinking that January won't be as bad because there are less people.....

For our January trip, we had 20-some ADRs over 11 nights including most of the ultra hard-to-get choices (Chef Mickey, CRT, LeCellier, Sci-Fi, California Grill), and the only one I had to be flexible about by more than 10-15 minutes was LeCellier. We also rearranged some times while we were down there, either same-day or the day before, and didn't have a hard time with anything except (predictably) LeCellier.

When we went this January, we didn't make a single ADR and walked right up to every restaurant we wanted and were seated within 15 minutes. The only one that we wanted that was booked up was Chef Mickeys. Its just really bad right now b/c of free dining and the seemingly troubled new ADR system. Also, the free diners (including myself) are used to having 180 days. Now that you can't make any ADR's until 90 days out, it is a battle. I think you should be fine in January and won't have any trouble making ADR's. Good Luck!

We had no problem at all getting any ADR we wanted when we went in January. We even got Le Cellier for dinner when we wanted. I even changed my mind a lot and had no problem at all with anything ever! Maybe I was lucky but they were easy to get. I did notice with our trip in August there were less options in my times and some times with places I wanted I could not get, which was not the case in January. I even changed some while I was there and was still able to get CRT!
