DH and I have been to Disney countless times. We now have a son and are looking to bring him to the world next September. So this will be our first time with a little one!!! :) I am wondering if staff looks down on having children at the restaurants??? DS is very well natured so I'm not worried about him screaming all through dinner (I know that could change by next year).

Any input would be GREAT!!!!!

oh i 'm so happy for you! that is exactly what i hope to do! only we're going to try for a baby next month and then i cant wait to take them to disney! I've heard lots of people say, on my own thread about what age is best to bring a child to disney, say that the baby's get fussed over a lot and the CM's love to have them. Pick places that are geared toward the toddlers, like Hollywood and Vine breakfast, CP, Chef Mickey's, etc. Sci-Fi would be a good one too, i'm sure they'd like the big screen and the cars.

Both of my children went to Disney starting at 10 months. Nobody looked down at them at all. In fact, most servers were very doting. I will say that I booked early dinner times and removed a fussy child from the restaurant so as to not diminish the dining pleasure of others. One trip with my DD, we had to remove her at 3 different restaurants and either myself or my DH finished dining alone and getting the other meal to go. She was just too stimulated. Both of my children "normally" behave well at restaurants at home. I just find Disney can be totally different. I think due to the overstimulation.

We went for two weeks (June 2010-July, including the 4th!) We went to the Illuminations Dessert Party, Chefs de France, WCC, Boma, just to name a few but even in Chefs with our then 10 month old, there was no problem...even when the baby, my grandaughter, reached out and touched our Chefs waitress' nice white starched apron and made a mess of it with her food covered hands!:rotfl:

Thanks for the response everyone!!!!

I really thought the CMs would be cool with little ones!!! And thanks for the early dinner tip!!!!

I think that in every restaurant, whether character dining or not, the majority of tables have children. We have gone when our daughter was 10 months old and 2 years old and have had great experiences both times. I do agree with a previous post...on a few rare occasions our daughter got cranky and one of us would take her outside while the other ate and then we would either wrap the food or switch so we could finish eating. The wait staff is very helpful and understanding. As a matter of fact, at Chef Mickeys our daughter was particularly upset (at least in our opinion, but no one else seemed to notice) and we apologized to the waitress. She thought we were crazy for aplogizing and tried to comfort us because we were embarrased. Just relax and enjoy!
