Hello...

So I've stayed in the cabins before and LOVED them and am trying to convince another couple to stay there this year with us. It had never occurred to me before.. is there no food delivery at all to the cabins? My friend needs a room service option..ugh! Is this completely out then? Will local restaurants deliver to the resort?? Help!

Thanks!

For the right price I'll swing by with some take out!

No room service to the cabins that I am aware of. Although I hear that the Mayor was looking into a Kungaloosh room service delivery option for frequent fliers.

Good excuse for a golf cart, you can run up to the Settlement and get takeout fried chicken and sides. And I think Pizza? Otherwise no room service.

It is, after all, a campground. If I want room service, I generally stay in a hotel. If I want to camp, I go to a campground.

Yup - pizza too. Also wings and nachos.

Years ago (like 5 or 10) the pizza was good and we would pick it up raw and then cook it several hours later in the trailer when ready, but now from what I heard it's nasty. There is an Uno's at Crossroads and another highly rated pizza place about a mile from the Crossroads that we ate at last year, but can't remember the name off hand, but google best pizza in Orlando and you should fine it.

We do love the Gitty-Up-And-Go. For the two of us we made two dinners and two lunches (sandwiches and a salad) out of a $20 meal .... that's about $2.50 a meal for the meat at disney prices :cool1:

We found that the TE takeout pizza is quite a bit better if you tell them to cook it "well done" - otherwise it has a tendency to be kinda soggy.

We really like the chicken too - both taste and cost-wise. :thumbsup2

There is also a Hooters in the Crossroads. Great wings! ;););) I have been looking for a way to persuade them to deliver their "goodies" to my camper. :rotfl2:

If they ever offer that service it would be just the amenity I need to entice my husband for a yearly trip. :lmao:

I totally agree! When I go to FW, it's because I want the FW experience. If I want a woodsy feel resort experience, I'll stay at WL/VWL and enjoy the resort amenities like room service. I enjoy the community feel of FW, where it feels like you really come home at the end of the day. It's just a totally different vacation experience than anything else on property (and much more home-like to me than the DVC "home away from home" villas). Don't get me wrong - sometimes I'm in the mood to be pampered and spoiled with room service and mini bars and people at my beck and call 24 hours a day. But anyone who goes to FW expecting that kind of vacation will definitely be in for some disappointment.

If the OP's friends think a vacation isn't a vacation unless they have room service, then they shouldn't vacation at FW. Maybe the OP could stay at the Fort and the friends at WL? Not too far apart, but each family gets what they want out of the trip.
