Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody knew of the dates that Disney charges higher amounts at the restaurants. I know this is usually during various peak seasons. We are going in a few weeks and I am wondering whether or not the higher prices will be in effect or not. Also, I was wondering where DVC members can get the TIW card once we are on site?

Thanks!

If you're going over Easter, expect that it will be peak pricing time.

TiW can be purchased at any Guest Relations window - parks and DTD.

We are going over spring break. Not sure which spring breaks will be in the higher price zone. I was hoping to see a calendar and curious what the pricing is. I would like to do some analysis re: dining plan as well to see what we will be best off with. I know the dining plan is a higher amount then as well, I was hoping somebody could point me in the direction of that info.

on the DDP board says peak for the dining plan this spring is March 9 - April 14.

I don't think it's ever been exactly confirmed that the fixed price restaurants / buffets have the peak pricing on the exact same dates, but that is what I would use when deciding. Remember that it's only those one price type meals that do the peak pricing, AFAIK (if restaurants raise their prices on the regular menu at those times, I don't think anyone has specifically noticed that or talked about it here - and I don't think they do).

Unofficial guide talks about a dining surcharge for the popular buffets (Akerhus, biergarten, etc.) and fixed price meals (Spirit of Aloha, HDDR)during peak attendance weeks such as presidents day, easter, thanksgiving, christmas, and mid-june to mid august. The surcharge is $4 per adult and $2 per child. The surcharge is added to the quoted price if paying OOP, to your dining plan price if you have a DDP.
Whether it is in effect this year, I don't know, but my bet would be yes.

FYI if you're DVC you only pay the regular season DDP price, not the peak DDP price, even if you're going during a peak week. At least that's what we were charged, for our stay the week leading up to Easter.

We were there at the same time last year and the prices in all the restaurants were definitely higher. We had printed out menus online that were current, and we paid significantly higher prices for everything. I was just trying to verify if it would be the higher price again (which it appears that it is), as well as get a grip on the higher menu prices so I could do a little number crunching to compare pricing to the dining plan.

For starters, I can call DVC to see what the price is for us to add on the dining plan. Then the question is finding menus with the higher prices...if anybody has any info on that, please let me know! Thanks!

I'm still not sure that's proof that they raised the price just for the peak period on the regular menus. Menus you find online (allears or here on the DIS) are often not up to date. So it could have been a regular price increase. I think someone would have to compare the regular menu prices after the end of the peak period to know for sure.

The PP who said you wouldn't be charged the peak price for the DDP is correct - I forgot, DVC members do not pay the peak pricing for the DDP. The price of the dining plans is on a sticky @ the top of the boards here.
